Seems to me that there is a lot of doom and gloom brought to this forum sometimes. So, in an attempt to lighten it up...

OW/OMs (married partners bc these relationships sometimes have dynamics that make us forget the things we like and our memories that we cherish)

1. What is your favorite thing about your married partner?

2. What is the most annoying thing about your married partner?

3. Do you have a song? And if so, what is it?

4. Do you display pictures of you and your married partner in your home?

5. Where do you see you and your married partner 10 years from now?

I'll answer first, even though I'm a FOW :)

1. His talent and creativity, his ability to let his hair down and have fun, and his honesty with me.

2. This one is easy! He is such a talker, that I often hear, "let me say one more thing about that"... lol. Convos could go on FOREVER with that man!

3. We do have a couple of songs that mean a lot to us. "Right Down the Line" by Gerry Rafferty is "our" song. Whenever he hears it on the radio, he calls me bc it always makes him think of me :) And, it's a song that I LOVE anyway, so, it kind of became ours when it came on my player one night at my house while he was here :)

4. I don't display them as I ended the relationship last year. But I have them all in a journal and sometimes do look through them. I love seeing the random shots that people took of us, catching us unaware in moments where we are connecting - and usually laughing. :)

5. Not sure. Time will tell, and how he handles the divorce will help me make a decision about trying or not trying. I don't believe in "happily ever after", but if it worked out, that would be nice. If not, well, you win some and you lose some. :)

1. What is your favorite thing about your married partner?

My favorite thing was how he could be so serious one second and then this dry sense of humor would emerge. It was quite a challenge keeping up with him sometimes. He was the king of the one liners too.

2. What is the most annoying thing about your married partner?

He could read me like a book and sometimes I found it almost intrusive.

3. Do you have a song? And if so, what is it?

The Dance by Garth Brooks. I hadn't ever heard it till he took me to see Garth in concert.

4. Do you display pictures of you and your married partner in your home?

I don't display pictures in my home. I do have millions tucked away and so many on facebook it isn't funny.

5. Where do you see you and your married partner 10 years from now?

I'm kind of like you. A year ago I'd have said he would be at home where he said he'd always be. Now he's living on his own and the D is almost final. Time will tell but I can tell you I'm going to give it a shot and see what happens.

I'm a fOW too. We ended several years ago and if we start seeing each other after the D is final in a few weeks I'll refer to him as my SO or BF. He will not be MM at that point.

Another fOW here...

1) favourite thing? There are so many... But I guess I love how much there is to him the most. The fact that I can never get bored of him because there is so much to him.

2) that he has such a toxic xW! When people from his deep past turn up and he says, come have dinner with me & my wife, and they start to make excuses because they think it's her... And he has to explain that it's not her, it's me...

3) van Morrison, Magic Time.

4) we have one pic in a lovely silver frame good friends of us gave us for that purpose. The rest of our pics are of family. But we have tons of pics on FB, and have for ages. During the A his father used to post heaps of photos of us on his FB so we started doing so too, even though I used to think my Rs were nobody's business but mine. But his dad said we looked so happy it was a crime not to share that.

5) Travelling the world! Chasing the sun! Working if and when and where we want to, and just enjoying ourselves.

*Another* fOW!

1. What is your favorite thing about your married partner?

I loved his wit, and his intelligence. I loved how gentle he was and interested in others he proved to be.

2. What is the most annoying thing about your married partner?

Prepared to be (what I would term) a victim at times.

3. Do you have a song? And if so, what is it?

We had two or three, 'Better Together' was my fave.

4. Do you display pictures of you and your married partner in your home?

I did, yes. I was open and he was my boyfriend and I was happy with him.

5. Where do you see you and your married partner 10 years from now?

I know I will be very happy, and I do hope he will allow himself to be happy too. :)

FOW here

1. What is your favorite thing about your married partner?

I have to pick just one!?! :p The way he laughs. God I love his laugh.

2. What is the most annoying thing about your married partner?

When he puts things away it is not in the place I put them. Things have an assigned place and they should go back! (petty I know.)

3. Do you have a song? And if so, what is it?

Your Song by Elton John

4. Do you display pictures of you and your married partner in your home?

I am not much of a picture person but I have a couple

5. Where do you see you and your married partner 10 years from now?

Happy

Aw... exMM has actually sung that Elton John song to me before... :) It's a good one... He likes to sing to me, lol, and he has also sung 10cc "Not in Love" and Journey "Feels like the first time"... those songs always make me smile now. :)

Hey man, love is hell. (The phrase is usually war is hell, but love is equally bad).

Whether you're dating, in the trenches on the front lines weathering shell after shell lobbed at you and crawling away with body parts hanging from you, or in a relationship, scaling barbed wire in tattered, almost nonexistent uniforms, all the while enduring heavy machine gun fire, or engaged, and trying to limp the last few miles on the stump that used to be your leg, or married, lying in a hospital bed where a deranged nurse is contemplating exactly what dose of sedatives would be just *enough* that you won't wake up again.... in any situation.. love is hell.

So naturally most of the threads are pretty somber in nature. :)
