Please help me - need ideas to get out of awkward situation!!

I met a guy at a party on the weekend and went back to his place to make out (no sex, just lots of kissing!). Anyway, I have no intention of seeing this guy again (various reasons) but unfortunately I left my $500 designer jacket at his place!! Thankfully I had given him my number before I left (don't ask me why), so he messaged me this morning saying he had my jacket.

 

My question is - how do I get it back without having to face him?? We both live locally so I can't think of an excuse as to why I can't pick it up from his place or meet up with him (which is what he suggested). I wish he could just leave it in a neutral place but I can't think of where. Besides, it all sounds so harsh and obvious, me not wanting to see him again.

 

Any ideas or suggestions? Please, help this stupid girl out!!

Call him and set a time to pick up your jacket. When you arrive at the designated time, retrieve it and than make your apologies for not being able to stay. Give an excuse why you cannot stay and then say your goodbyes and leave.

Max thinks that sometimes, in polite society a girl has to put on some simple makeup, dress appropriately, ( perhaps somethings that goes well with a $500.00 designer jacket) and then go and meet the man who is doing you a favor by not selling the jacket for crack.

 

Max also believes that you should meet the man for a coffee to retrieve the coat and reward him with a pleasant, "Thank you so much." and a kiss on the cheek. When he asks if he may call you again you have only to say, "Hmmn, you're very sweet but I need some time to think about it. I'll let you know. Ciao."

I understand that it might be etiquette to meet up with this guy to retrieve the jacket but I really REALLY do not want to see him again (for a couple of very important reasons).

 

Please, is there any way I can get back this jacket without meeting up with him? Any ideas would be much appreciated!!
