JSJS Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 We need to have a few meetings - just the two of us over the next few days and I don't know what to do! I feel if I am pleasant I somehow condone the terrible things she did but if I am cold and distant I come across as wounded and sore. I don't see a way to come out of this feeling good :-( I don't want to get to together again, we have said hello a few times but that's it. The thought of what she did makes me angry and I am in no mood to be friendly at all.

You won't feel good coming out of this, of course. Just act professional, just as you would treat other co-workers. Speak when she addresses you or when you need to address her. You'll just have to put your personal issues aside and deal.
Author JSJS Posted September 25, 2012 Author Posted September 25, 2012 I know that saying! I'm good at my job and this won't change it. I just don't know what to do if she wants to make small talk or wants to talk about us. I actually envy people who get to do NC - this is torture.

If she approaches with small talk, gently tell her you have to excuse yourself as you need to get on a call and walk away. If she wants to talk about the relationship then tell her that you prefer not to discuss it, especially at work. If she did some terrible things to you, stay away. You don't owe her anything. 1
