Furious Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Joni Mitchell- BOTH SIDES Bows and flows of angel hair And ice-cream castles in the air And feather canyons everywhere I've looked at clouds*that way But now they only block the sun They rain and snow on everyone So many things I would have done But clouds got in the way I've looked at clouds from both sides now From up and down, and still somehow It's clouds illusions I recall I really don't know clouds at all Moons and Junes and ferris wheels The dizzy dancing way you feel As every fairy tale comes real I've looked at love that way But now it's just another show You leave them laughing when you go And if you care, don't let them know Don't give yourself away I've looked at love from both sides now From give and take, and still somehow It's love's illusions I recall I really don't know love at all Tears and fears and feeling proud To say "I love you" right out loud Dreams and schemes and circus crowds I've looked at life that way But now old friends are acting strange The shake their heads, they say I've changed Well something's lost, but something's gained In living everyday I've looked at life from both sides now From win and lose and still somehow It's life's illusions I recall I really don't know life at all From up and down, and still somehow It's life's illusions I recall I really don't know life at all 1

LoveTKO Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 If you want something different apart from the run of the mill "you broke my heart" and "how can you do this to me" stuff..... ......Check out Miniature Sun by XTC! It's poignant and creative piece of music in which both the lyrics and music project that feeling of despair and anger when you uncover that someone's been cheating on you. Starts out with a cool jazz waltz when the protagonist is on top of the world, but it morphs into all out rage and dissonance when mid way thru the song he sees another man leaving the front door. Talk about revenge!: Miniature Sun https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BrKOsgha46E I'm 12 o'clock, All daylight hours, I'll warm your bed, I'll grow your flowers. Like I'm a miniature sun. This ball ignited when she told me I was her only one. I'm not the same now. I'm not that plain little boy. I'm all aflame now. I'm king up here like a miniature sun. No life comes close, I'm rising higher, On holiday, On ball of fire, You made a miniature sun. There's no more shadows in this world she says I'm her only one. I'm not the same now. I'm not that plain little boy. I'm all aflame now. I radiate like a miniature sun. Now everything looks right today, A billion watts of bright today. And I'm a blazing kite today. I think I'll float around her house, And tell her exactly how she makes me glow. But then the other man leaving merely doffs his hat, And I'm the last to know. Now everything looks wrong today. An out of tune sung song today. I've grown from big King Kong today, Right down to miniature... Don't come too close, I'll burn your arm, I'll bleach your hair, Dustbowl your farm, I'll blind your eyes, You blinded mine, I'll spin with rage, All summertime, You made a miniature sun. Just take a look up in the nightsky, I'm not the only one. I'm not the same now. I'm not that vain little boy that I was. I'm all to blame now, Look out below here I come! Man crashing down like a miniature sun

War... For power! You stared at the broken mirror Your heart's collecting dust Secure that the sins are forgiven Forgotten but still left with us The crime is that you've failed in recognizing The heart you broke The life you stole. Bow down before your master (I sit inside with this **** inside as I) Bow down. You're my disaster. Pain is just the path of life you've chosen It's nothing more than a simple slap away Your heart, your fist, your skull Is breaking all this, taking all this. Cut off your nose to spite the face My life of piss you borrow Do I follow the God who trained the King? Or create my own God tomorrow? Why can't you see that you're unfaithful? Scars and bruises hide the truth in fables. It's time My heart is broken down Shine My heart is broken Why can't you see that you're unfaithful? Scars and bruises hide the truth in fables. It's You! No more Tomorrow. It's You! No more Tomorrow **** your Minion. Pushing me away.

standtall Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 Lying eyes-The Eagles City girls just seem to find out early How to open doors with just a smile A rich old man And she won't have to worry She'll dress up all in lace and go in style Late at night a big old house gets lonely I guess ev'ry form of refuge has it's price And it breaks her heart to think her love is Only given to a man with hands as cold as ice So she tells him she must go out for the evening To comfort an old friend who's feelin' down But he knows where she's goin' as she's leavin' She is headed for the cheatin' side of town You can't hide your lyin' eyes And your smile is a thin disguise I thought by now you'd realize There ain't no way to hide your lyin eyes On the other side of town a boy is waiting With fiery eyes and dreams no one could steal She drives on through the nice anticipating 'Cause he makes her feel the way she used to feel She rushes to his arms, They fall together She whispers that it's only for awhile She swears that soon she'll be comin' back forever She pulls away and leaves him with a smile You can't hid your lyin' eyes And your smile is a thin disguise I thought by now you'd realize There ain't now way to hide you lyin' eyes She gets up and pours herself a strong one And stares out at the stars up in the sky Another night, it's gonna be a long one She draws the shade and hangs her head to cry She wonders how it ever got this crazy She thinks about a boy she knew in school Did she get tired or did she just get lazy? She's so far gone she feels just like a fool My, oh my, you sure know how to arrange things You set it up so well, so carefully Ain't it funny how your new life didn't change things You're still the same old girl you used to be You can't hide your lyin eyes And your smile is a thin disguise I thought by now you'd realize There ain't no way to hide your lyin' eyes There ain't no way to hide your lyin' eyes Honey, you can't hide your lyin' eyes 2

He plays in a couple of bands here and was in one at college, but that one broke up, I think. LoveTKO Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 This is a must see song/video about infidelity. Not because it contains some unique message, but the singer reminds me of some math teacher in high school, or a sales person at Radio Shack. I can see why his girl cheated on him because he exudes this sense of lame, oatmeal and vanilla: "Him" (Rupert Holmes...same guy that sang the Pina Colada song) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TlmmVEmw9pA Over by the window, there's a pack of cigarettes. Not my brand you understand, Sometimes the girl forgets She forgets to hide them I know who left those smokes behind She'll say, oh, he's just a friend, And I'll say, oh, I'm not blind to.. (chorus) Him him him, what's she gonna do about him? She's gonna have to live without him, It's him or it's me, me me, No one gets to get it for free It's me or it's him. Don't know what he looks like, Don't know who he is. Don't know why she thought that I would say what's mine is his. I dont want to own her, But I can't let her have it both ways. Three is one too many of us, She leaves with me or stays with.. (chorus) Him him him, what's she gonna do about Him? She's gonna have to live without him, It's him or it's me, me me, No one gets to get it for free It's me or it's him. If she wants him she can have him, Just exactly how we once were, Its goodbye to he and I, and back to me and her, Without.. (chorus) Him, him, him, what's she gonna do about him? She's gonna have to live without him, It's him or it's me, me, me, No one gets to get it for free, Time for me to make the girl see, It's me or it's him.

And I'm hearin' what you say, But I just can't make a sound. You tell me that you need me, Then you go and cut me down... But wait... You tell me that you're sorry, Didn't think I'd turn around... And say... [Chorus] That it's too late to apologize. It's too late... I said it's too late to apologize. It's too late. Yeah! [Verse 2] I'd take another chance, Take a fall, take a shot for you. I need you like a heart needs a beat, But it's nothin' new, yeah! I loved you with a fire red, Now it's turnin' blue... And you say... Sorry, like an angel Heaven let me think was you... But I'm afraid... [Chorus] It's too late to apologize. It's too late. I said it's too late to apologize. It's too late. Whoa! [interlude] [Chorus] It's too late to apologize. It's too late. I said it's too late to apologize. It's too late. I said it's too late to apologize, yeah! I said it's too late to apologize, yeah! I'm holdin' on your rope, Got me ten feet off the ground. 1

Betrayed, I was Betrayed, I was Betrayed, For as long as I live, I'll never forget her enough to forgive, what he did to me, too late I see, I was Betrayed Betrayed, I was Betrayed, whoa whoa Betrayed (fades)
