church9832 Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 So I got dumped by my former girlfriend three weeks ago and I went through the motions and I'm most sure I'm over it now. Nothing bitter we ended it on good terms (even though theres no such thing but it was better than bad) I just asked a girl to have coffee with her, had a huge crush on her when we were in Senior High school. Just a normal hangout and catch up and as a gentlemen I am driving her and paying for a coffee. What are you tips to not blow a probable future with her?
TaraMaiden Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 Don't consider it as 'a probable future'. Just go for a coffee, be natural, act normal, be nice and see what happens. Any other kind of thought, leads to other actions and you come over as desperate.....
Author church9832 Posted September 22, 2012 Author Posted September 22, 2012 I will take your advice That's my biggest problem: looking desperate.
yongyong Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 You might not be able to control your subconscious body language. But at least do this. set the time limit. I say 40~50 minute. No matter how the conversation is going well, tell her you have to leave, you guys should get in touch and GTFO. I know this would be hard if you guys have good vibe but you gotta do it.

TaraMaiden Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 No. Under an hour is best. Because it gives you a drive-time in which to talk. if you need more time - that's the best excuse for making a second 'date'. See....?
Author church9832 Posted September 22, 2012 Author Posted September 22, 2012 Alright I'll finish with in an hour but if she wants to stay more what should I do
TaraMaiden Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 I don't know. You'll have to play it 'by ear'. But don't be 'easy'. Play a little bit hard to get. There's a term in the world of Performing that says "always leave them wanting more". leave 10 minutes before you should, but make a second date, there and then. Relax!
yongyong Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 If you want to stay longer, she might say 'I gotta go' first and you will feel dumb. Just do it polite way 'sorry, I gotta do this but we should continue the conversation. let's keep in touch' she will understand unless she is very weird. I wouldn't set the 2nd date on the spot either. Alright I'll finish with in an hour but if she wants to stay more what should I do
