They mostly ask them out on Facebook, text yada yada not face to face. So how often does a guy ask you out face to face to a pool or something similar?. While sober.

It was face to face or write a letter (with a pen!) or call them at their house on the landline and ask the parent who answers the phone if so-and-so can come to the phone (I'm thinking back to high school when living with parents was still acceptable). I feel old now. Will the younger guys really learn how to ask a girl out in person with all this tech available? (I hope so... but I'm not sure.) 2

(I hope so... but I'm not sure.) me too with all that old-fashioned stuff good question... maybe it will be OLD all the way? the number of young ones that are still uni age (therefore exposed to lots of peers their own age) astonish me.

There is usually some sort of prior affiliation/connection unlike most of the advice you hear about walking up to total strangers and pleading for a date.

Occasional cold approach if she's too hot to not talk to. A growing, albeit still quite small, number of men are struggling with difficulties to talk to women. Still, most guys I know do just fine.

Via text they'll either not respond to a text asking them out or say something like "i have to see". Setting things up in person is more successful. And I'm 24; so there goes that whole "young generation only texts" thing.

She will also have hours or even days to decide or spin up a cool response. ****ing boring way to strike out imo. Asking irl = You catch her off guard and you both fall back to your reflexes. If you're gonna strike out at least make it quick. She might say "I need to think about it" to consult her friends and get a background check on you. She might also just make up an excuse a day later or just no-show completely.

I've had a bunch of guys pursue me since I broke up with my long term boyfriend back in June and ALL of them, except one, have just text me. It's so frustrating. Trust me when I say that when that one guy actually called me to talk to me, even though he didn't know me that well, I was extremely impressed. Just call the girl. Or ask in person. It's so refreshing. 1
