Do you find yourself attracted to the same signs? Do you find you get along better (in relationships or otherwise) with certain signs?

I started reading about the different signs (western as well as eastern zodiac) a few years ago. Never really got into what signs were compatible or not. After my beau and I were together for awhile, I read about the compatibility between our signs and it's almost dead on in the way we are with each other.

I also read about the compatibility between him and his ex, just out of curiosity, and it too was almost dead on as to how they were together.

This is true for both the eastern and western zodiac

No. Everyone pisses me off equally! :p:bunny:

Astrology is a myth and there is scientific evidence to prove it. Don't even consider astrological signs when choosing a mate. I don't know how many people who've met someone they are attracted to only to find out "their sign" and then walk away just because some hochus-pokus astrologer says that the two signs are incompatible. Everyone is an individual and it is physically (and spiritually) impossible to predict anything about their personality based semply on the positions of the planets and constellations at the time of their birth.

As a matter of fact, I have found that the astrological signs have a lot to do with it. I tried proving them wrong...twice, and I was smacked in the face both times. All of my best friends seem to be right around the same signs...and the compatibility I feel with them is always along the same line as what the signs have to say. I can't say whether that makes it a definate thing or not, but statistics show in my life....Astrology is a big part of it and I should learn to live by it a bit better.

Think of it this way. Say a child is born under Gemini. OK, he's a Gemini. But his parents are Saggitarius and Leo. His parents through their teaching and influence lay the ground work for his personality when he's an infant. It may be that elements of his individuality would be expressed as Gemini, but there would also be quite a bit of Saggitarius and Leo in his make up. Of course there would. But you never hear someone say "wow, your a Gemeni who acts a lot like a Leo." I went to an astrologer once. She never asked me anything about the signs, dates or birth, nothing about the people with whom I had live and who were major influences on my development: my family.

The Chinese have their own Zodiac, but it's personality traits are quite different. Their Astrology is much older than the Western. Which one is correct? It can't be that the Western one is correct for us and the Chinese one for Asians, since while there are cultural differences, basic human behavior is the same the world over.

Astrology is a romantic idea, but it falls apart whenever one applies strict logic to its examination.

I think astrology makes for good fun, but I don't put too much stock in it. However, both of my long-term partners were Cancer men. Supposedly the perfect "match" for a bull-headed Taurus like me. :o

I read somewhere that Aquarian men are the most-often divorced people in the Zodiac. And yes, I do think there is something eerily truthful about atrological compatability.

No.

If you want reliable information on whether a lover is compatible, visit a poultry-based divination service. They'll ask you a few questions, choose a bird from the pen, slit its throat, and withdraw its entrails. Based on the seer's interpretation of the entrails, you'll know whether or not you should pursue the affair.

Hope this helps.

I personally do not believe this to be true. My H is a Taurus and I am a Sagitarius, no worse couple has ever been designed. But, we are pretty happy, incompatibility or no!

Actually, there's a hunk of research about someplace that posits that the time of year a kid is born could affect its personality - NOT because of where the stars are, but because of something environmental - maybe the types of food available or the amount of sunlight the mother is exposed to or something but it appeared there might actually be a correlation.

Anecdotally speaking, astrology has proved true for me. I do not ask people their birthdays or signs right off the bat; it will come up later on, when I already know people. Virgo men were not a good idea (three of them). The Scorpio man was every bit the disaster the chart predicted - and oh, I tried to fight it but he was very much like the 'classic' Scorpio. Same has gone for women. If someone's an Aries, we end up at loggerheads. We'll be ok for a while, but then something will mess it up.

I'm still collecting my own anecdotal evidence and I'd never let it affect me, but I think I just might give a Libra guy a try sometime since that's supposed to be my ideal. Heck - nothing wrong with a little experimentation in the name of science!

I would like to believe its true or has something to do with compatability. I don't really know that much about it though. I like to read my horoscopes, and compatability reports, just to see what it says for fun. Sometimes its on the money and sometimes not. Anyway be that theres truth to it or not, I enjoy reading about it.
