Bgirl Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 I met a guy and we went on a first date last Monday which was great. There was chemistry for sure. He texted that night to make sure that I got home ok and then he called me on Tuesday and Wednesday. He told me that he was going to travel within the country for 10 days starting last Friday and last I heard from him was a text he sent me on Thursday to wish me a good day. We really enjoyed talking to each other and we make each other laugh a lot. I’m a little sad because he didn’t text me before he left and I haven’t heard from him since. I’m not upset at the fact that he hasn’t communicated with me when he is on vacation, but I do think he should have at least texted me to say goodbye, given that he will be away for 10 days. Is just a way of letting me know that even though he will be away he is interested in talking. Is my expectation reasonable?

No, I don't think you're being unreasonable. Unfortunately, I think his behaviour suggests that maintaining the communication with you is not a priority. It indicates that you are not front of mind for him. Some people are okay with that, because they'd consider it early days. Others would consider that dropping off the face of the earth for ten days and then expecting the other person to remain interested to be a little presumptious. My advice is to forget about him and focus on something else. If he gets in touch again, then figure out if you're still interested.
