Anyway, again, it's not my cup of tea, but 17 year olds are fully developed physically, can legally emancipate themselves, and in many places can legally marry and join the armed forces. Many arent...the body isnt really done growing until early 20s. Physical development doesnt mean its ok to ignore emotional and mental development and use young people for sex. Some 14 and 15 year olds are quite developed....is it ok to have sex with them to? And you can join the armed forces with PARENTAL CONSENT as someone whos 17. And legal emancipation is highly highly rare, and usually kids end up staying with other adults. And marriage is quite different, especially if its happening between someone of similar age. We are talking about teenagers and adults though. Besides, if a guy is that bad with women, it's highly unlikely he'll be "running circles" around anyone, even a 17 year old. They'd likely be on equal footing. Actually, scratch that, the average 17 year old is probably more mature than the average hard luck guy. You have no idea how naive and immature teenage women (and men) really are, do you? Its why older losers prey on them, because they know they arent on equal footing and that they are easy to bed.

But I don't feel like controlling other people's lives so I don't advocate regulating the consumption of those things. So what's the big deal? They're on "equal footing", so it's an equal relationship. If that's the only girl the guy can get I can't really fairly tell him to pass that up for a big zippo can I? One might argue maturity of 17 year old girl approaches that of 22,yo man. Now admittedly he presents her as a HS girl but my guess is she's likely partied w college boys.

If she isn't, he risks a legal record which will be with him for life.

Yeah, I know some very precocious girls like that, quite a few when I was younger. It wasn't necessarily a good thing I thought, but sometimes some girls are comfortable with that life. Hell, I lost my virginity to a girl just like that - the difference being that she had literally just left her teens behind.

The age difference isn't that big, although I wouldn't of done it myself. Grant it it does sound like he wants to be FWB or something so like I said he should leave it alone. Trust me I'm not one of these "She's 18" creeps lol. I'll be 31 in a few months and my age perferences are going up. I'm chatting with a 24 and 27 year old on an OLD site but being that 31 is around the corner I'm almost uncomfortable about the 24 year old.

It's a mixed message on college campus and in town gown culture. The OP's encounter was not on a campus, it was an urban location. The girl had consumed alcohol. The situation is common. I don't think I am going to ever call her again but theres something stopping me from deleting her number lol. Believe me when I say she was a 23-24 year old stuck in a 17 year old's body. It wasn't like I was manipulating her either, like I said she was calling shots:D Whoever this kid is she KNOWS what shes doing. Like she really does know how to handle an older man. In what way does a persons emotional and mental maturity not play into their ability to hook up? Its a big reason why young people hook up. And its a big reason why a lot of older men and women try to kick game to teenagers. Its different once you reach your 20s and 30s....everyones matured as adults for the most part. So your dating a 24 or 27 year old is no big deal. Age gaps matter a lot more when youre young and still developing. Aren't you just a year older than me? "Grow up". Talk to me when you're 50 then you can tell me to grow up. Besides, growing up is for losers. I may be just a year older than you, but I know I am years ahead of you in terms of life experience. And growing up is totally for winners.
