I have nothing to lose but I'm uncomfortable with this approach.

Here's the situation: I was attending two different colleges, but I received a notice that my current classwork at one of the colleges won't apply toward transfer. I dropped all my classes at said college. At my current college it's mostly technical so there's hardly any women out there. At the college where I dropped out there's a beautiful girl who's been eyeing me up and down every class. I haven't been able to talk to her for two reasons: 1. I was too tired from working midnights to pay for my colleges. 2. Her friend told me she hooked up with some guy the day before classes started two weeks ago.

I was thinking I have nothing to lose by contacting her through the school email.

However, this isn't my style I would much rather just approach much easier. What should I say in this case? What would you think my odds are at getting a date from her in 2 weeks time?
