jobaba Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 I spend a fair amount of $ on clothes, and if a woman gives me a constructive fashion tip, I usually take it. My preference is for women who dress in a semi-hipster, vintage, urban style. However, as you get older what you can get away with wearing changes. I'm going through this unfortunate transition now. I haven't really exercised my taste in clothes when going for women, but I think I'm going to start. Samantha Jones, Kim Kardashian, Las Vegas Bellagio, and Real Housewives of Orange County are all turn offs.
2sure Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 Tailoring makes all the difference in clothing for both men and women. It just looks better, it fits better, its a huge difference. And you dont have to be a man particularly concerned with fashion to appreciate it - you just have to want your clothes to fit.

If you have the money for tailoring yeah...some of us aren't akin to shopping at "The Men's Warehouse" all the time.
2sure Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 I know you think that but tailoring only Looks expensive. I wish you would try it just once. Go to a decent store , go the clearance or sale rack. Buy something - pants (khakis) , that fits slightly loose or loose in one area and fits elsewhere. Take them to a tailor. Just once try it. 1

january2011 Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 To be fair, I think there's a difference between on-trend fashion and wearing clothes that are good quality, fit well and are appropriate for the occasion. I keep an eye on what's fashionable in womenswear because I'm interested in design and colours. However, if I were dating someone who had to have the latest in-season designer gear, I'd probably be a little turned off. Edit: And I agree about American menswear being too boxy, suits in particular. I much prefer the tailored slim fit of Italian, French or Japanese suits.
GirlontheLam Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 Tailoring isn't that expensive and totally worth it. Many dry cleaners can tailor stuff as well, they tend to be cheap. You don't want to go there for something super complex, but the basics are easy.
