Can you talk back to a guy that you stopped talking with?

I dated this guy who happens to be my neighbor for a week. We really hit on with each other until one night he said something mean to me and pissed me off. Then I left his place. He texted me later and said he shouldn't have said that and he would be grateful if I could come back to him. But I was too mad, and texted back that maybe we should just be neighbors. He said that either way he wants me to stop by at his place now and then. I said maybe. A month passed and I didn't talk to him. Now I really want him back, but not sure if he is still interested or if he has already moved on. So what do I do now?

Omg when I first started reading neighbor I though this might be mine, didn't think neighbors dating was common. Anyways, yes just give it a shot you don't know if you don't try. But be warned a serious relationship with a neighbor is great, but if it doesn't work out its the worst. I dated my next door neighbor, and now that we broke up 2 months ago it still stings all the time, and it's a lot tougher to get over it. Not trying to deter you or anything, just a fair warning.

Well, can I just randomly knock his door and surprise him? Would this be too rude?

Personally, I would not do that but that's just me. I am trying to get my ex back, she broke up with me after a few months. Partly because I think just because we are neighbors I don't want her to feel like she can't go outside or whatever for fear I will always try to talk to her about it. So anytime I see her outside since the break up it was just a simple hi, I never brought up the relationship I try to keep them separate. If she wanted to get back with me, obviously I would welcome anything, but I don't know how others would take it.

I would probably just text/call him when you know he's home alone (if it's easy for you to tell) that's probably the best time.
