Nancy B Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 This is all very petty, but irritating as hell. I recently visited home after an extended period living abroad. I returned to my foreign home two weeks ago. I have a few friends here in my foreign home. I brought them back some candy just as a little gesture. My friend, lets call her Sam, did the same gesture with the exact same candy back in March when she visited her home. Sam contacted me when I was home asking me to but her a cosmetic product when I was at home and that she would reimburse me when I returned. I gladly obliged. When I gave her the candy and cream she looked really p*ssed off. She said 'Is this all I get, a tiny packet of candy...well I suppose this (cosmetic product) is my gift too...jeese thanks.' I was horrified. I had decided that when she had offered to pay for the cosmetics I would decline anyway. But she didn't even offer and accepted the gift so ungraciously. She then continued by saying how much souvenirs her other friend got her from SE Asia because SHE is a good friend. Two weeks later and she had still mentioned it bitterly. I want to let it go, I really do. I don't have many friends here. But at the same time I am really annoyed. Why is she being so horrible!
darkmoon Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 'Is this all I get, a tiny packet of candy... if this is what she says to a present, then just don't get too involved, you might be lonely, but just don't get emotional, she sounds likely to be ratty about anything, so basically from now, just perceive her to be an acquaintance rather than a friend
juicre10 Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 No need to take any kind of tension about this.
