Inflikted Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 Perhaps you've seen one of my other posts, but if not, here's my situation: I've never dated or been involved in any way with a girl, and I recently found myself having feelings for a girl I work with (we're both part timers at a retail store, so it's not like some company job, or anything like that). Thing is, I REALLY thought there was interest on her part, too. Over the last few months, while at work, she's kinda spent a little extra time with me, we'd joke around and tease each other a lot, make each other laugh, and a number of times, she's implied that she likes getting to know me and wanted to get to know me better. More than that, I've had several friendships with girls, and this one just felt... "different". I was absolutely positive she was interested in me. But, when I worked up the nerve to ask her out, she could only say she'd think about it (she said she's had bad experiences dating coworkers in the past). As everyone has pointed out to me, if a girl doesn't say yes, then she's saying no. What I'm curious about is, how did I read this so wrong? I really really thought for sure there was interest on her part, but if she doesn't want to go out with me, clearly I was wrong. So, I'm just curious, so I know for the future, how did I misread her, here?
CptSaveAho Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 Maybe she was having a bad day or maybe she wanted you to chase harder (its kind of annoying but it does happen) When you are both having positive days, tell her you are going to be at place X at Y time and she should meet you there. Have fun with it, dont be so serious
MrCastle Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 It happens. Maybe she just liked the attention you were giving her. Nothing more, nothing less. You are correct though, when a girl says no, it's no. Some people here don't understand the concept of teasing/chasing. This wasn't a tease. She more than likely only sees you as a friend and tried to let you down the best way she could.
