jennyhall74 Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 Today is our 7th wedding anniversary W e are separated but are still living together until the end of the month. I was thinking of writing him a note letting him know how thankful I have been to have spent the last 12 years with him and how I still love him very much. Do you think that's a good idea?
AllieKat Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 I think you should! What do you have to lose. Could you tell him to his face instead? I had my 7th anniversary last month and my hubby wants a divorce so we are also still living together its honestly heartbreaking. I think I may borrow this from you because I havent told him how thankful I am to have had him in my life and I think he should know that too. Good luck to you
TaraMaiden Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 No. No, no, no. If you are officially separated, and there is a divorce pending, this is a bad idea. Honestly, when I was separated from my H., if he had sent me a card of this kind, I would have felt "WTF? Kerrist, we're separating and divorcing, and he wants to 'thank me for 26 wonderful years'? Puh-leeze! gimme a break - get the heck outa here!" I do not for one instant consider it to be a fruitful, productive or constructive thing to do. I'm obviously in the minority so far, but that's my view.... 1
Author jennyhall74 Posted September 10, 2012 Author Posted September 10, 2012 Well we are not divorcing and divorce has not even been talked about. We are just taking some time apart from each other to figure things out.
TaraMaiden Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 But you're not apart. I would wait to see whether he comes forward with anything.... There will be egg on your face if he doesn't, and he doesn't appreciate your doing something. If nothing transpires by "bed time" then, give it to him. But not before... If you really, really must.....
Ninja'sHusband Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 If you guys are still trying to reconcile, I'd say go for it.
