Malia25 Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 I've heard varying opinions on this subject, but I feel it is subjective based on the guys' personality. So, what do YOU think about a girl that can tell a dirty joke (and a good one too)?? Do you view her as promiscuous, cool, laid back, funny, etc etc? I am just curious because I can tell quite the dirty joke and can pretty much make a dirty joke out of any situation. Of course, I don't scream it to the world...but I either chuckle to myself or tell my friends (if they're comfy w/ that kinda thing). I'm not the least bit "slutty", but my mind can be dirty. Ha. I made a few dirty jokes w/ the last guy I dated and he recriprocated w/ his own. I thought that was hilarious and great that we can joke as mature adults. But I think I might've lost a few points with him because of it. Would that play a role in how you view your date and/or girlfriend?
jordjones Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 As with any humor, a lot of it depends on the context and delivery. Personally, I would recommend you stay away from dirty jokes for at least the first date. I can be pretty vulgar myself, but I don't let that show to someone with whom I have interest until there is a certain level of comfort and repore.
MrCastle Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 If they're witty/clever, I love it. I'm more into innuendo and not flat out dirty jokes though. Being able to disguise it is what turns me on I guess. Funny women in general are a turn on for me. 1
kaylan Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 Its not hot...its either funny or it isnt. Depending on the girls personality and delviery I may find it funny or off-putting. Some of my chick friends I expect certain forms of banter and humor. And other chick friends I expect differently based on their usual personality. To agree with Castle, innuendos are where its at...and sometimes those can turn me on. Again, depending on the female.
AmeliePoulain Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 I would never date a guy who couldn't handle my dirty jokes. It's just all in good humor and if my guy didn't have the same sense of humor it wouldn't last. Humor is huuuge for me, if he thinks im being vulgar or classless then so be it. The kind of sense of humor I enjoy is a common factor in all my friendships, they either like my jokes or don't. Most of my jokes are for myself anyway. Every guy I dated has enjoyed my humor and love that I'm very witty/clever, the only thing I have to watch for is my audience and timing as sometimes I lose my filter
MrCastle Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 Humor is huuuge for me What if is humor is too big?
AmeliePoulain Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 Explain 'too big' The only thing that would be too much for me is if the guy constantly made jokes and didn't know when to stop then it would be a little exhausting. I have a very dry sense of humor and sometimes morbid but my friends appreciate it. I'm usually the more funny and playful one in every relationship and I tend to date guys that are more chill but laugh at my jokes, but who knows, maybe they're just laughing at me

It was our second , but we had been talking for 2 months at that point. Aside from the dirty jokes, our sense of humor and witty banter was right on par with each other. We were trying to uncover different sides of ourselves and I told him that I have a penchant for dirty jokes that I only engaged in with a particular group of friends. I had a joke about him that I at first refused to tell him for fear that he would think differently of me....but after much coaxing and 10 minutes later, I finally told him - and he laughed and later brought it up in conversation weeks later. We didnt share dirty jokes a lot (actually, very rarely) - but I still feel maybe that played a role in why he no longer contacts me. That, and he is a Virgo. LOL. Either way, it doesnt matter. I was just curious of others opinions. Thanks!

Being able to disguise it is what turns me on I guess. Funny women in general are a turn on for me. I never tell out flat out dirty vulgar jokes. My language won't allow it. LOL. They are always witty (ha) and full of innuendo/puns. Humor is a turn on in any gender! I would never date a guy who couldn't handle my dirty jokes. Humor is really important in a relationship and if two people don't share the same kind - then it could be really....well, not funny. Same goes for sarcasm. I tend to be very sarcastic - and one guy I went on a few dates with didn't get that. It was awkward to say the least and it just made me want to be MORE sarcastic to get him out of his unfunny shell. It didn't work and I learned to accept that one's humor is definitely subjective - and should be "tamed" around certain individuals. Boo!
newmoon Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 humor is so important, but i stop short of being dirty/vulgar - it's just not necessary. same thing with jokes that are racist/insulting to others - there is so much clean humor available. my bf enjoys dirty jokes, but not from me. he sees women who tell them as unfeminine - so, while he often laughs at dirty jokes other women tell he'll always tell me something negative about the woman who said it afterwards - to him it shows lacks of taste, lack of womanly qualities, and he is one that thinks dirty/vulgar jokes are for intimate couples to share (if they want) and not for women to share with other men/women they don't know well
coolheadal Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 Not needed today.. What's the point to be with a girl like that.. Vulgar girl who likes to tell dirty stories.
