Necromancer Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 As people say having confidence is being in touch with your self but can that be misunderstood for not giving a ****. So can people think of u as a confident person when you only don't care about what others think of you, even if you ain't confident at all?.
jcrew11 Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 A person can be "self confident" and still be positive, happy, have empathy, and be aware of others. Having self confidence means that you won't let other people bring you down or upset you. It doesn't mean someone has to be a loud obnoxious jerk. 1
USMCHokie Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 A lot of things can be mistaken for confidence: -Aggression -Being loud -Indifference -Boldness -Being unconventional -Being relaxed -Being cold or unemotional None of those things means the person is confident. True confidence is hard to identify with certainty. I'm starting to think true confidence is not something to be externally identified, but rather something entirely internal to oneself. Sure, there are certain signs that can reflect that someone might be confident, but it is not something to be assessed or evaluated by others. It is only something YOU can know. It is something only YOU care to know. Whether others think you're confident is irrelevant. I'm slowly changing my tune regarding confidence, and I think you're very much on the wrong path if you're focusing on external behaviors when trying to become "more confident"...
somedude81 Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 Confidence is not giving a sh*t and doing what you want. How to actually feel that way is beyond me. Not even booze can boost my confidence in regards to women.
Titanwolf Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 My apathy coincides with my confidence...
