Do women really crave bad boy sperm?

I keep hearing from men who don't think too highly of women that women crave sperm from jerks but expect the good and stable men to help raise these kids. Is this true or just delusion talking?

 

I can't speak to the part about men liking women who cuckold, but would suspect it's true As for what you're describing, it's a very simplified explanation of HYPERGAMY, but in a word, yes, what you are asking is true to a large extent. It's true. Women absolutely love to complain about absent fathers, deadbeats, the abusive ex, the drunk, the gambler, the creep and felon they had children with.

As I have said before, and as I'm sure that any of you with even a tiny capacity for rational thought know for yourselves (Woggle included):

 

There are damaged people. They often make many bad choices in their lives.

 

There are also pretty regular but immature people who are attracted by crap that is not conducive to having successful long term relationships and family building. They often (if they're basically healthy folks) grow out of this and start to develop more depth to their values. Their goals also change from fun - seeking instant gratification to long term ones. But, sometimes babies are conceived by immature men and women.

 

This is very easy to observe in men and women alike. It has nothing to do with sperms and eggs.

The most common reason I heard (from the women I dated) for the initial move from family to a person whose actions might be considered to be 'bad' is that the disclosed family environment was/is toxic and the 'bad boy' had sufficient aggression to invade that environment and spirit the woman away. Granted, I only met a few families personally and over time, but I could definitely see what the ladies were talking about. Quantum difference from my own socialization. That was during my marked and unhealthy period of giving too much 'benefit of the doubt'. Too empathetic, too understanding, too much projection of my own style/socialization upon an unknown entity. Bad mojo. In a couple of cases, the ladies went back to their abusive (their words) ex'es after dating me. Learned a lot from those.

I used to only like "bad boys." Pretty much as many of the women haters here describe, I wanted excitement. I did not appreciate safety or security. I had a high thrill seeking level. Also present was a youthful rebellion against my family of origin. AND, just a basic fascination with the darker side.

And … guess what. I had a boyfriend who represented all of this, and I got pregnant accidentally with him. Since I had been told I was sterile, I decided to go ahead and have my daughter.

Where my story diverges from the regular tale told here on LS is that I did not seek a "beta" (or whatever your label) man to take responsibility for my child and me.

 

I will say, though, that when my long and messy relationship with that man was finally over, I had learned all I needed to know about my own attraction for "dark" guys. I knew it was a flaw of mine and that I had to be on guard against it for my own well being. I was going to choose a good man or be single, after that.

In my "fertile years," I chose a man who suited me the way I was then; a jackass was not inappropriate. I must say, though, that compared with you he was a king among men! Anyway, It had nothing to do with fertility. We both believed I was sterile.

 

And really, please refrain from talking about my wonderful husband. I have not described him as a "yes-man." He is a great man. He'd also use you as his bath mat, without even noticing your existence, if by some fluke you slithered into his realm.
