No, this is bullcrap. If anything, we have so much automation these days that many traditional man jobs have become obsolete. This is a large reason why many men have a difficult time with today's economy and seem to be lazy or more passive, but the reality is their traditional jobs such as manufacturing and construction have been hit very hard and it's tough for a man to provide for his family when he can't find work.

They're competing with machines and other men who will build things for $5 a day but when the rent or mortgage costs $1000+ a month where he lives this isn't feasible. Men are builders, creators, and pioneers, and when it's impossible to provide for his family or even feed himself by doing these things, it will get ugly.

I think it's time men have become better and losen their belts. Stop stressing so much out of an obvious fear of women. Men and Women, both different and amazing in their own regard, but equal. I like the idea of the gender roles being blurred, because I do like the idea of being a bigger role at home or in things that were in the past deemed femanine.

I also consider myself a man's man. tattoos, war, camping, Hunting, boozin' it up and shooting ****, foul language, questionable ethics/thought process. But, I very much consider myself a Woman's man, open and considerate, compassionate and very passionate. I express my emotion the best ways I can, and am always in full of support of her.

Back then, a man was expected to go to work and be the breadwinner, while his wife takes care of the house at home.

Now he has to talk and communicate openly. He has to share his emotions. That means he'll also cry in front of his wife much more often than did his grandfather.

Both of which are great progress in terms of improving a romantic relationship.

But does it make him more feminine?

Let me know if you have any questions or comments.

I dont think its bad fro men to cry i have watched alpha men cry normally talking to me i think it shows strength of character. My step father cried once i could tell he was holding it back......a male alpha techer cried in front of me(he was informed of something that happened to me by my mother telling him what happened and i was being isolated because of it he needed to know why i was being isolated unfortunately)Mr woods six foot something big black beard sparkling eyes i was in fifth grade so thats how it affected me i remember it clearly..he touched my heart.. and my grandfather cried strong alpha male truck driver,my ex cried.....he was a bouncer......i am used to men crying.......i use the operative word men.....doesn't make them feminine ........they aren't female they are men who cry and i have witnessed strong men break down in tears....i dont like it if i am the cause of it i do not think less of them never would and i say never think less of a man for breaking down i have seen a lot of men break down in tears of joy...in love with their wives i find that beautiful the wives must be so touched and humbled by that expression of love in front of others how strong is that to be that honest and accepting of your emotions you dont give a stuff....i admire them....nowhere near feminine more strong and truthful...i class it as an alpha trait.......deb

I started high school in the 50's, so I was an eyewitness to the rise of the feminine movement.

If anything if made us more masculine.

For those who lament the good old days, you have no idea what you are talking about.

I was one of the lucky ones who got laid in high school, most of my friend did not. You lament about the bad boys getting most of the action, back in those days, they were about the only one's who got any action.

Then guess what happened when the girl got pregnant, do you think he married her? Not very likely?

In those days a pregnant girl had great power. She got to name the daddy. Do you think she wanted some dead beat bad boy as a husband and the father of her child. Not very likely. She could name almost anybody she wanted as the father, and the state would file a felony criminal charge against him. So some poor shmuck is faced with the choice of going to jail or marrying the girl. They did not have DNA testing in those days, they went with blood testing. Meaning if your blood type matched the babies, you have a decision to make. Go to jail, or marry her and help her raise her b*stard child. And it would be you who would be bringing the bacon home, as most likely she would not be working.

Not only that, in all likely hood, she would never lose the extra weight she put on while carrying the child, and there is a good chance she would put on even more weight.

Now try to divorce her, especially if she wanted to fight it.

Also in the good old days, working out in a gym was only for men. Very few women worked out. There were no Buns of Steel. True they talked about dieting, but very few really tried.

The modern woman is much more shapelier, is able to support herself, and demands a good lover for a partner. In order to keep up we men have had improve ourselves to keep up.

As far as men crying, I've seen many a teary eye, when Jim Nabors was singing "Back Home in Indiana" at the start of the Indy 500. And it wasn't the women who were crying.

I don't see any problem with any of this. Personally I mean. I wouldn't want to force this situation on anyone.

Can you clarify that? Essentially, the poster is stating that anyone, even a man who didn't care about the woman, ever have sex with her and didn't in any way wish to be a father is forced through operation of law to assume those roles and responsibilities. This was common in my father's generation and prior and only began to change with my generation. I'm all for 'doing the right thing' but throwing oneself upon the sword of fatherhood under threat of the court seems unhealthy to me.

It doesn't make men more feminine but it still does nothing to make these women happier.
