I was wondering if anyone had added these to their food, and if they helped - with energy, weight, whatever health benefits you tried them hoping to receive?

While the nutritional profile of Chia seeds is not too bad, in my opinion, they are wayyyy overpriced for the benefits. There are cheaper, more bio-available sources of everything that Chia seeds have to offer.

I eat them every now and then, not for any particular health benefits but just as some variety in my diet. They're good, but like any other seed, I can't eat too many of them.

I think they've given me some energy. My mood is pretty good, too. :) I mixed them into some homemade granola, added milk, and left it for almost an hour. I was hoping that they would help my stomach (I have something going on, where I can barely keep most food/liquid down, including water); it's helped a bit, so I'll keep taking a little bit every day, and see how it goes.

 

I used to add ground flax seed to my cereal, just for a little while. I'd forgotten about that. I preferred the oil blended into a smoothie, but I had to stop that due to this digestive problem (although I always had a problem with milk). It used to keep my skin and hair in good shape.

I'm still iffy on these. I've been eating them again, for a couple of weeks, and found that they tend to help my stomach if I add them to cereal, after grinding them, adding milk, and then eating a few spoonfuls as I go throughout the day. I've barely had anything to drink, but they helped when I ate pasta earlier (at least I think they did).

 

I'm only eating one tablespoon per day, and haven't noticed a change in my waistline, although I thought I did the first few days. I was also eating better in general then, too.
