Necromancer Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 Specially made question for you woman!. Can clothes really impress you if you like his dressing style?.
jcrew11 Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 What kind of clothes are you wearing that are seen as nicer? What kind of clothes are you wearing now? Have you ever owned a suit?
ThaWholigan Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 I'm no woman, but whenever I dress well, women notice. So yeah, I reckon it does help. 2
CarrieT Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 Absolutely! A guy in jeans and a t-shirt won't get a second glance compared to a guy in a button-down shirt. Well-pressed khakis and clean loafers are preferable over the jeans and athletic shoes. A suit is way better than casual clothes. A guy in a tux will have me on my knees in front of him...
8mia8 Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 No, unless you're talking about being compared to clothes with holes, haven't been washed in ages, etc. Though, I do like a man who knows how to dress up when the occasion calls for it.
Imported Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 Proper fitment is even more important. See many guys walking around with stuff that is just too large for them. 3
8mia8 Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 A guy in jeans and a t-shirt won't get a second glance compared to a guy in a button-down shirt. I love t-shirt and jeans!
WhatsMyName Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 Yep I think they do... but then again, eyes and smile trump clothes anytime
USMCHokie Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 Yep I think they do... but then again, eyes and smile trump clothes anytime Oftentimes clothes are what draw you to even look at the eyes and smile to begin with...
january2011 Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 (edited) Yes, clean, colour appropriate and well fitting are important. And while I mostly agree with CarrieT regarding suits/tuxedos versus casual/athletic wear, I've also discovered that I have a weakness for some colour combinations of sportswear. Or it could be that I'm already attracted to the wearer and his choice of clothes are just a bonus that makes him even more attractive. Edited August 29, 2012 by january2011
USMCHokie Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 ...I've also discovered that I have a weakness for some colour combinations of sportswear. Indeed. .....
january2011 Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 No, those colours are for special occasions. I'm referring to grey marl and navy or grey marl and black + a Californian tan =
MrCastle Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 Absolutely! A guy in jeans and a t-shirt won't get a second glance compared to a guy in a button-down shirt. Depends on who's wearing the t-shirt and jeans and how well it fits. I wear almost exclusively plain white t-shirts, jeans and boots (like my idol in my avatar) and always get glances. I wear shirts that show off my v-shape and jeans that fit. Not skin tight, not baggy. When the time calls for it, I can GQ up. But I prefer t-shirt and jeans. That look has been in style since...well since t-shirts and jeans were created.
CarrieT Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 I've also discovered that I have a weakness for some colour combinations of sportswear. For me it is Tweed... I go absolutely week in the knees for a guy in Tweed!
USMCHokie Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 Depends on who's wearing the t-shirt and jeans and how well it fits. It also depends on who's looking. Not every style is universally appealing. 2
january2011 Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 For me it is Tweed... I go absolutely week in the knees for a guy in Tweed! I've seen some lovely jackets on mannequins in town but tweed reminds me too much of an old boss of mine and a statistics professor who looked like Tintin. I didn't find either of them attractive. However, if my SO were to wear tweed, perhaps I might change my mind!
WhatsMyName Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 I think that suits/uniforms as are not a sexy as most women do. I'd prefer casual.
CarrieT Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 It also depends on who's looking. Not every style is universally appealing. Totally concur. I never give guys in jeans a second glance - let alone a first glance...
SpiralOut Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 I don't care too much what a guy wears, so long as it is clean without holes in it and fits him properly. Pants or shirts that are super faded and old looking are kind of a turn off too. He should look like he takes good care of himself and cares about what he looks like.
newmoon Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 it helps, yep. shows attention to the self and presents a positive image. always a good thing
threebyfate Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 Oh.Yes. A man in a well tailored suit, a Christmas present to unwrap. A man in a pair of jeans and a shirt, a Christmas present to unwrap. A man in a pair of shorts and t-shirt, a Christmas present to unwrap. A man in a pair of boxer swimming trunks, a Christmas present to unwrap. There's more but my fingers are tired!
Mycteria Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 It totally depends on the situation. If I'm dive bar hopping, I don't care if he's wearing jeans and a t-shirt. If we're at a nicer place, then a man who looks good in a button down or a suit is a plus.
