What if it was legal? Would that change how you see it?

No. Because it doesn't change the effect it has on the individual. I've seen what it can do to other people, and yes, even to myself. I was at Ozzfest and some dude lit one up in the middle of the crowd (where I was) I got a contact high; literally one of the worst feelings I've experienced in my life, ever. Every ounce energy I had was sapped, I could not think, did not know where I was. I hated it! And will never go near it again. I like to be in control of myself, if at all possible. It is also why I abstain from alochol. I act like an idiot on my own well enough, I don't need some external source magnifying it. :o:p

But this is what it does to YOU, not what it does to everyone. I'm not trying to change your mind on pot one way or another, I'm just pointing out that not everyone has the same experience. Pot doesn't sap everyone's energy or turn everyone into a useless couch potato. Most people, yes, but not all. lol

An ex was an occasional user. He also smoked nicotine cigarettes. I was young and naive. And, at the time, a number of my peers were dabbling, so I've experienced second-hand fumes. Having been through that and with additional relationship experience under my belt, I would be turned off if a guy smoked pot or anything else.

The recent news stories on research showing that teenage pot usage has been linked to a decline in IQ further reinforces my viewpoint.

Oh I understand that it effects people differently. But it will almost always impair the person in some manner. In the end, yah, it's just my bias; a huge turn off for me. Plus I'm also highly allergic to smoke in general. (And that may have been what caused such a reaction.)

People can do what they will, just my take on it is all, as I was asked and stuffs.

I wouldn't date a girl who DIDN'T smoke pot. :)

And yes, sex on some chronic = WOW

I know people who smoke, and I have good friends who do it. I have good friends who dabble with other less addictive drugs from time to time (once every few months) So Im liberal about drugs when it comes to my friends.

When it comes to a girlfriend, Id prefer it if she only smoked like once a month or once every so often. If it was something frequent Id be bothered because of the smoke in lungs issue. Im an avid fitness guy. I lift started lifitng 4 times a week, do cardio a couple times a week, and am a huuuuge soccer fan. So fitness means a lot to me, especially with the amount of cardio endurance needed for soccer.

This all being said...something that compromises your lung like smoke inhalation does, highly skeeves me out and is a turn off. Now...heres the best part. If my girl could afford a kick ass vaporizer the likes that John Mayer has. She could toke up and I wouldnt give a damn.

I smoke weekly and am very fit and healthy. I can play tennis for 3 hours on the hottest summer day, run as long as I want to, and have more stamina than most people. My non-smoking boyfriend told me it's ridiculous how much energy I have, and says he's going to start working out so he can keep up with me.

I smoke only the highest-grade weed, so it only takes a puff or two to make me feel great. And the friends I smoke with the most have a vaporizer, so we use that sometimes.

when you dont smoke with friends, do you also use a vaporizer?

because if you smoke only joints or with a pipe thats crazy that you can do all those sports!!! because i think also it effects your lungs

Actually, I have an uncle who has smoked ital spliffs for 40+ years, and his lungs are completely fine.

I think it's when people lace it with tobacco, which a lot of people do.

Smoking once or twice in a 30 day period would hardly qualify someone as being a stoner/complete moron.

FTR I quit smoking 11 years ago.

but thats only people who do it many times and often

not for people who do it occasionally like once a month

i know some people who do it once a week and i didnt notice a difference, i didnt even know they did it until they told me they didnt seem any different

I use either a bong, pipe, vaporizer - or rarely, eat brownies or smoke a joint.

Seriously, I can do strenuous cardio all day long and not get tired. Yeah, I'll be sore the next day, as I would after any vigorous workout - but I have endless energy and no respiratory issues.

I've even tried working out while high a few times, and it feels great. No pain, totally limber and relaxed, and all these enjoyable workout sensations.

I get what you are saying. But I still prefer if she vapes, smokes every now and then, or doesnt smoke at all.

Michael Phelps needs great lungs for the sport he does, but hes smoked weed. However he doesnt do it all the time like you do. My thing is, that I dont like highly consuming things that keep me from peak ability. Smoke in your lungs will do that. So while you may be able to do cardio...youre not doing the best cardio youre capable of because of all the weed.

And thats what would turn me off. I strive to be the best physically. Not just ok or average. I want my body in top condition and to take care of it well into old age. Smoke in the lungs is bad any way ya cut it, so Id say stick to vaping and pot foods.

The lungs? The law?

How about the BRAIN?

All the stoners I know are just complete morons. Grown ups who are still smoking pot are to me, the equivalent of 40 year skateboarders and 50 year old Harry Potter readers. There is absolutely no question that people who smoke a lot of weed have stunted minds/maturity. A lot of them think they're interesting and artistic, but that's only because they're really ****ing high .

Most potheads are really boring to talk to, despite popular belief. You can make a short list of really dumb conversation topics right before people start passing around the bong, and all the topics will come up atleast once. Being stupid and goofy can be funny, but it seems stoners are always in "Hey look Goofy's a talking dog in a hat! ahahahaha" mode. And that's if you can even pry them away from youtube or the television, if not then you just sit there in boredom with the living dead.

This is just anecdotal evidence of the stoners you know. Pot doesn't make someone stupid, but a LOT of stupid people smoke pot. Just like a LOT of stupid people drink alcohol, do cocaine, shoot heroine, etc. It's all about the person, not the drug.

My experience with stoners is that they are some of the most productive people I know. My really good friend smokes literally all day every day and he owns two businesses, has a masters in engineering, and is about to go back to get his PhD. And that's just one example. But is it because he smokes pot? No. It's because he's a really productive person and the pot just stimulates that. My experience with psychedelics is that they make you more of who you are.

When I get high I jump around to music and start cleaning the whole house. lol. It's like adderall. I'm not saying that there aren't a ton of people out there who use pot to get toasted and do nothing else. And I completely agree with you that these types of users are the epitome of boring. But this is their choice. It says much more about them than it does the drug itself.

I think you would be amazed at the number of extremely productive and interesting people in society that smoked weed or used other types of psychoactive drugs (Steve Jobs, Aldous Huxley, and JFK just to name a few). It's ALL about the person.

Ditto...I do worry a little about the smoke but I only take one tiny puff and I'm good. I'm not trying to get blazed out of my mind. Like I said, it's strictly to stimulate my appetite and ease some pain. A little brain stimulation is fun too. Haha. But the tiny little hit I take hasn't seemed to hurt my lungs, and I've looked at them on scans at the hospital before. They are perfectly healthy.

Then again there is building evidence that THC has anti-aging/healing properties. So maybe this counteracts the effects of the smoke. NOT saying I actually believe this. Just saying it's a remote possibility.

A lot of girls and guys get super horny when they smoke, so I guess it depends on what you're looking for...

While we are talking about psychedelics I would like to say that everyone in the world should take magic mushrooms at least once a month. How can you understand your reality unless you truly test its limits or experience another reality? You can not. And mushrooms are the most effective tool for knowledge and understanding.

High five, sister ;)

People use all kinds of things as drugs and self-medicators - TV, food, alcohol, hard drugs, pain pills, anti-depressants, sex, meditation, dancing. One of mine is a little bit of weed.

But I imagine that as my conservative fella and I end up spending more time together and if we live together eventually, my use of it will naturally decrease and I'll probably just do it on the rare occasion at a party or something.

You sound kinda controlling and judgmental. Hopefully you'll grow out of that.

you know I started a thread like this a while back saying pot was a deal breaker to me and it seemed like a lot of people agreed.

Yet this post is like the other way around? Did something change or did the different threads attract different posters?

mmm yeah... i don't smoke I would prefer someone who didn't. I dated someone who did and it was not a wonderful experience.

In this thread we are talking about someone who does it once or twice every 30 days.

I don't smoke anything, but for that few of times in a calendar year I don't see the harm.

Now a daily or weekly smoker is a whole different animal.

Just my two Lincolns.
