Sorry, to hear that. But you're not alone in going through this. Things will get better and you will adjust. Dates and anniversary's and events keep rolling past on the calendar that I should have spent with my ex. But there's not much we can do other than try and make the best of ourselves.

Can you not meet up with friends or family as a distraction so you don't stay on your own dwelling on this?

Hello Mistermr

most of my family live in the south of the UK and friends have move on

1 of my mate said come round if you like, would have been nice if he said right ste be there in an hour see how you are when i told him, so ive not bothered him and his family, so yeah i spend alot of time alone, i know i shouldn't its been a big shock to me finishing 2 weeks after our holiday, just taking 1 day at a time now

Hi Stemac,

I will share with you the best advice anyone has given me in regards to the BU: GO OUT, GO OUT, GO OUT! Do not stay by yourself. Even if you have no friends, grad a book/a magazine and go somewhere with people around. Just looking at new faces will stop the negative thoughts (if only for a minute). Hit the gym (nothing like a BU to get back in shape), register in a new class (art, music, tuning...whatever makes you feel better).

It will get easier i promise but things will come in waves,im 4 months post BU and ive been coping really well,my ex went to the coast yesterday for the whole weekend with her friends,i was supposed to be going so today ive been feeling a little down but ill beat it again. She even has a new bf now so thats been hard too but i promise you it does get easier with time, its just a little blip in your recovery.
