Need you guys to knock some sense into me

Hey guys,

 

So it was my 21st birthday this week and my ex and I broke up about a month and a half ago. I have been staying strong, keeping myself busy and going out with friends. However, most of my friends went back to school and my family moved away so I am pretty much alone from now on.

 

So for my birthday my ex and his family all contacted me wishing me a happy birthday and his grandmom and grandpop pressured me into saying yes to them taking me out this weekend.

 

I just am really missing him and I need you guys to knock some sense into me. I mean he said happy birthday to me and he dropped his rent off today. Thank god I wasn't at the apartment but he didn't know that. I just keep thinking he still cares but I know that if a guy wants to be with you that he will make it happen and my ex is not making moves. Anyways its just a rant but as always I would really like responses.

I think so too. If a guy really wants you he'll make a move or do something. Time will tell I guess. But if he doesn't make a move, don't dwell on it. Right now it's tough, I know. I'm still reeling from my break up. Put on a brave face and act like you own the world. Confidence is sexy.

He just feels GUILTY.

 

Guilt and attachment are two powerful emotions that we give way to much credit to.

 

Why would you be pressured into saying yes? You are done with that, one of the pros of your situation is you don't have to do anything with him or his family EVER again. And its perfectly reasonable for you to NOT do it. "Hi xxx, it was wonderful being part of your family while i was with your son. You are great people and this is nothing personal, but your son and I are now done, and I need to more forward with my life and do whats best for me. I thank you for thinking of me and I wish everyone there a happy wonderful life." click. hang up.
