If you want a confident guy be confident yourself..... Which MOST women are not.

Unless you are angry and bitter and are focusing on the unfairness of life and love. In that case, you must work on that first. Men and women aren't enemies or competitors. We all want the same thing - someone to love and accept us as we are. A soft place to lie when the rest of the world is unkind. Someone who will be there for us and care for us. (sounds like a song....) Yes, some people focus on the superficial aspects of dating. You can't change them. (Life usually changes them though.) Ignore those people and focus on finding the one who "gets" you. I am concerned about your anger toward women, Necromancer. We aren't all shallow entitled beeyatches looking to stomp on the hearts of our many followers (even if we are UGLY!!! ) We're just people.

I'm talking about making moves (like going for a kiss or asking the girl out or initiating something) and being genuinely comfortable with yourself. Those are things that are a requisite for a man. Making the first moves I agree with you on but women can be comfortable with themselves as well. If anything, guys BS more on their true selves then do women.

A running back can throw a touchdown pass on a trick play but that doesn't change the fact the the running back's job is to run, not pass. Same deal here.

Something tells me if you ain't universally attractive to women you have to do the asking or nothing will happen.

It would be nice to read a discussion on why articles or comments written by some women demand men be confident, approach women, ect.... but relieve women of any accountability to the same token. However since your implied question is filled with charged inequities, you wont get very good answers.

They want a stoic, confident man who will also be open emotionally to her and show that he is someone with feelings. 2. You must how low standards for girlfriends, because for me and my closer friends, a girl needs to be confident in who she is. No one enjoys an insecure socially inept nitwit. 1

While I was making my post, I had a thought similar to yours. No, women do not need to put in work to get a decent guy. Women do need to put in work if they are trying to get an above average guy that is desired by a lot of women. That means that the guy has a lot of women after him. In most cases, guys don't have several women chasing them. That's when women have to work and compete with each other. 1
