My ex and were best friends for a year before we started going out in March. After two months, she was deciding where to go for college. She said she wanted to go up north, but was thinking about staying for me. She told me that if she decided to stay for me, she didn't want to go to the same school as me because she said didn't want to get too comfortable and didn't want to get "tired of the relationship" from seeing me all the time at school. She ended up staying for me, but our relationship didn't last and ended pretty badly.

There were red flags that I dismissed, didn't realize or didn't know about til way later. But would you have continued dating after this comment?

I have self esteem... so the answer to that question is No.

I forgot to mention that while she was thinking about it, she said "I think I'm a little in love with you.", which made me think she really cared :p

It depends. Why did you split up? There is a lot to be said for not being in each other's pockets all the time

Logic tells you to get out of a situation like that.

As men, we're at a severe competitive disadvantage when it comes to this. If a guy dumps his girl, he doesn't know how long it'll be til he finds another one to fill the void.

A chick, on the other hand, can find a man to fill the void immediately, and they all know this. So they are always doing and saying **** like the comment you endured just to see how spineless her man can be. It's a power game to them.

The illogical part of this, is, if you would have had the stones to call her out on that comment, question her to her face, she would have developed more attraction for you, in all likelihood.

If only we could get a notification a day ahead of time, saying, tomorrow at 3:00 pm your girlfriend will be saying this ****ty ass phrase to you and she'll be watching to see how you react. If you react poorly, she'll lose attraction for you. Handle it right, and you'll be more attractive to her. Don't blow it.

Most men aren't able to think on our toes that quickly when it comes to ****-tests like this.

We had a long distance relationship, and went on a break because she brought up once or twice hypothetical questions about breaking up, and one day after she said she thought it would make sense to go on since we don't see each other a lot, I agreed and suggested we do but I guess she didn't and started crying. I tried to make up with her, but she said she needed time to think about it. I actually didn't want to go on a break, but I was over-thinking so much, I got too attached, and she confused me.

We made up a few weeks later, but just one week after we did, I found out she was sending flirty text messages to someone else and hanging out with him a lot (an ex bf) and that she said she was tired of me being around. When I confronted her about it, she was just joking with him and that she meant she "didn't want to get tired of me being around" -_-

No offense...but ANY woman who would say that equates to me as "I get bored easily", meaning she'll dive in with a guy in passion, but then after a few weeks or months she'll end it or flake off because she feels like the "spark" has died.

You gave this one a shot and I'm sorry it failed...but I'll tell you from now on to walk when you meet women like this.

She was my first gf so I got really attached. I was whipped :p And she's a person that gets confused really easily, so I was hoping that because she decided to stay, things would get better and over time she would start to care about me more...But it didn't really turn into that :p
