He just texted me to say he's having a wonderful weekend. You know what? I've figured out the best way to get back at this sadistic nutcase. I'm going to make my life an absolute specatcle of success. I'm going to make myself a person who leaves such a mark on history that anyone who hears my name will have respect and admiration for me. I'm going to become the most beautiful person I can inside and out. I'm going to create things that speak to people on such a level that men and women are queing at my door to know and love me. I'm going to make sure that everytime this sadist wakes up next to his girlfriend that his heart stings at the knowledge of who she isn't. 2

That's pretty mean of him to text you saying that and I'm sure is very painful. I have experienced that on some level with some very shallow and beyond uncaring words and comments. I am doing the same thing you are. I have hit the gym hard, lost over 40 pounds and I am bettering myself as a person both physically and mentally. I've learned you can't make someone want you no matter how hard you are willing to try, you have to better yourself for yourself and no one else. I've driven myself nuts trying to prove I am changing to no avail but I can't do that any longer. Try to take it easy this weekend, take some deep breaths, go out with friends and do something fun. Don't do all that stuff for him...you're giving him way too much of yourself, in your head at least. He doesn't deserve anything more from you. If you want to improve yourself, that's always great! But do it for YOU.
KraftDinner Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Sorry, I just realized how trite that sounded...lame. You know what helped me when my ex dumped me? A change of scenery. I started a new job (I hadn't been working with him but just where I was, everything reminded me of him). I actually moved as well, which isn't always possible. Maybe that sounds trite too. But that stuff worked like crazy.
