So im out in San Francisco's busiest street walking around. So tons of hot women everywhere. And every time a girl glances at me, she looks away as fast as possible? wtf? If someone were to look at me I would smile at them. But I can not even do that because every girl literally looks away as fast as possible as soon as I catch them. And when the girl doesn't look away immediately, theres usually a mean mug on their face. Anyone else have this problem?

Maybe city girls are not as friendly as small town girls? (smiling doesn't mean too much in a small town)

Maybe you have a vibe that's very hard to tell on your own that they're picking up on?

Hey, buddy, it's better than what I have to put up with.

Every time I go out to the store, it never fails... I get the cross-eyed stare. And people always make that same dumb, Yogi bear face when they do it too. You'd think they never saw a giant before.

Do you have a pic of yourself?

Why ask "What's wrong with 'people' nowadays" when you mean ladies - or even, you?

Try being specific....

People classically avoid eye contact, whatever the gender.

It's a self-protective behaviour which actually harks back to when we were far more intuitive and 'animal' in our behaviour. A direct look is either a challenge or an invitation.

Which, and to what, exactly, depends on the instant, but in spite of our gregarious nature, we do not invite others to invade our space, and we try to not invade theirs.

Just look at 'lift' behaviour!!

Girls will not leave themselves vulnerable to approach by a male stranger even in public, because it invites an unknown dynamic.

The street is not usually a meeting place for those interested in finding a SO.

Discos, bars, clubs... they're the place to go for that.

I agree with Tara. It's a self protection thing. I've had people make comments to me about how I look in the "zone" or like I am on a mission. It's not personal to other people. It's just me. I smile more at older people and children then I do men or women my own age. People my own age, men and women, seem less approachable in general but they probably think that of me as well. Even though that's not how I really am. Most women aren't going to make themselves vulnerable on a public street. Even if they see a guy that interests them. It's just the way of the world.

She may be. But she's not going to risk potential hazards or ridicule by doing something out of the norm.

'she isn't physically attracted' would therefore be saying that everyone with whom you try to make eye contact with, who doesn't respond positively, doesn't find you physically attractive.

which is ridiculous, because of course they don't.

If eye contact in the street were a sure fire way of attracting a partner, there would be more cases of concussion due to people walking into lamposts, whilst gazing lovingly at ol' blue eyes standin' over there.... ....

salf protection. lol. she isn't physically attracted.

There have been plenty of men I found attractive that I never smiled at or encouraged. You simply don't know what is going on with someone just because you read their face a certain way. I can't tell you how many miscommunications I have had with friends or family where I thought they were thinking something and they really weren't thinking that at all. So I am sure that happens ALL the time among strangers.

It's no big deal. People are just shy getting caught checking out the opposite gender so they look away.

def. self protection. gal ignores you if you're anything but an attractive charmer, but won't leave an abusive years long relationship with an attractive charmer.

Ah... here come the sour grapes....

You're having problems moving on, are you....?:)

I'm sorry to hear that - but if you automatically equate any form of perceived rejection on a similar level to something you have experienced already, you're almost creating your own results.

It might help you gain a better perspective if you were to discuss what 'bitter' is....

I agree with TaraMaiden(my forum hero, great poster and super awesome user name) no sarcastic I tell the truth. I feel.....generous today.

Anyways yes...the girls are not wanting you to see them checking you out. I've seen your pic, you're good looking and I can see why this would be a "thing" for you out and about.

I'm the opposite. Woman look at me while on the biking/walking paths here and always smile at me and I mean a grin with teeth showing and/or give me a wave like they would a small child. To me this shows they are happy to see a retard on his bike and living life. Like in "Awww a retarded guy and he is so cute" type of affection from chicks.

I look in the mirror and know then that their affection is not due to being attracted to me, but more or less, give the retard a break, he's trying and it is cute awww"

Nah man...their checking you and as Tara says...they don't want to be caught.

This reminds me. Yesterday I saw a retarded guy with a hot chick. lol
