Ha! I knew you were going to say that. :p

Why shouldn't it be my concern??

I can ask the same question, why should it be?

How do you know I don't do some kind of voluenteer work in this regard already Snug? Why do you take issue with me discussing any topic I want?

Well, I don't know for sure. I do know, that most volunteer organizations for mental health require volunteers to undergo training. The way you approach a mental illness, such as body dysmorphic disorder, with a patient would not fly.

What isn't it to me? Why shouldn't I talk about it? Why shouldn't I consider how men are thinking about women? Do you think this should stop a discussion on women and their bodies and how men relate to women and their bodies Snug?

You're not "considering" anything. You're dictating what they should or shouldn't be attracted to.

Let me ask you a question. Do you think it is WRONG for men to be attracted to women? Or, is it just that you think it is wrong to be attracted to a particular physical attribute? Do you think "most" men, are requiring that women be rail thin, in order to date them? Have fake breasts, what exactly?

The thing is, I TOTALLY agree with this. However, I find a huge disconnect in the way we expect women to deal with this issue vs men. Above you said, "what is it to me" if men like certain bodies or whatever. Am I suppose to ignore how men are relating to women and their bodies and ignore the messages men get? I am suppose to rise above it but accept that men conform to it? Indulge in it? Support it?

I guess I am just having a difficult time understanding your opposition of what men find attractive, and what they do not find attractive. We're not talking about men beating up women, or cheating, or anything of that nature.

We are talking about what mind find physically attractive. Something that seems to be a sore spot for you.

Wait what?????????????

So you speak for, or think you completely understand how and why society works the way it currently does?

How about we simplify this. Yes or no question, you think it's the porn industry is the problem.

OK, I read enough. This is a Stage Two. I've already deleted 11 postings on the last two pages for off-topic and am still working. As a point of clarification, this thread was not reported, rather I merely saw an auto-moderated post from it and entered the thread and read the post to approve it for publication, which I did. It was during that process I saw the off-topic excursions, bordering on civility and respect violations, so took action.

Be aware, when a member posts external links, like to pictures in this thread, there is a chance of auto-moderation of those links, hence moderation will make an appearance.

I advise members to now remain on-topic and discuss why men do or don't only want models.

All men ask nowadays is that women not be fat and take care of themselves. Otherwise, you can find a partner who loves your figure if you're curvy, tall, thin, athletic, anything really as long as you're not obese

Those are the same requirements that women have towards men so what the hell is the issue again?

Its not the problem because its accepts women this size http://lh4.ggpht.com/-lAzBhiPXIF0/SZyjCiD53UI/AAAAAAAADlo/5SMEA3w9e0w/Samantha-38G-1.jpg

Does anyone honestly think a woman that size would be on Vogue or talked about on television?

Do you think they get seen as a sex symbol in the regular media like someone like this http://www.m-e-wood.com/bella/blogphotos/Megan-Fox-RibCage-Tattoo.jpg ?

Women if you are secure about what you have to offer why do you let things like what's in the media that's considered beautiful bother you?

Men just want women that they think are attractive and respond to them favorably.

Why shouldn't she be? They're both showing skin, that's all. Megan Fox is more acceptable, because...? Because she weighs about 90lbs? She looks like she's been starved.

Megan fox is actually in shape, the other chick is fat

That's not a gender thing though. I don't think fat guys are going to be on the cover of GQ magazines anytime soon either

I'm pretty sure she is more than 90lbs. She's mental, but still physically attractive. specially considering I know a woman who is fox's height 100lbs and she looks substantially smaller than fox.

And...? She looks as though she feels just fine. I don't think that she's any less pretty than Megan.

Apparently, you're only allowed to love your body if you look like a Victoria's Secret model.

She can feel however she wants to feel, she's still fat and unattractive to me and most men

Don't worry though, her male counterpart is much less attractive to women because men can't do the "bbw" thing where you're fat and you pretend to be attractive and actually have some insane people that think you're attractive. Fat men just tend to look awful. I doubt you care about that though right?

How much is acceptable, though?

I thought that the point of this thread was that men don't want models. I was as skinny as Megan Fox, and I was exhausted. (I lost weight without meaning to, and found, after a few weeks of eating some fattier foods, that I weighed 89lbs - I don't know how low I got before that). I was skinny with big boobs, and I felt like crap. I'm now a bit over where I'm comfortable - not nearly as large as the woman you linked to, but enough - and I'm not supposed to love myself this way? I'm not supposed to expect a man who could supposedly love me at 110lbs, to love me at around 130lbs? Because who I am is all in my weight and the way I look?

Huh?

Who said anything bad about being 130 Lbs? As long as you're not fat, you can find plenty of guys who find you appealing. My favorite chick is about 140 LBs - http://www.feetceleb.com/jamie-koeppe/jamie-koeppe-feet-1.jpg. Megan fox is attractive (BTW she's around 110 LBs not 90) but you can be quite a bit bigger than that and still be attractive

What is it with you and Verhzn constantly trying to identify with fatties when she has a nice figure and I'm about 95% sure that you have a nice figure yourself?

I brought that up because of a mention of porn. Also I asked a question: Women if you are secure about what you have to offer why do you let things like what's in the media that's considered beautiful bother you?

In regard to the woman that isn't skinny well she is a pornstar. So contrary to what some women on here want you to believe there are women of all colors and shapes in porn. This ideal contrasts with the media we see everyday that identifies with what is on Vogue or on the runways in Europe. Looking at the diversity of women that are in porn or other media that is not identified with models you will see that most men don't want models. There is no universal template that all men follow.

For one thing, I feel bad for the woman whose picture was used as what isn't "okay." I also don't like the idea that I'm acceptable, as long as I keep myself under a certain weight. The girl you linked to is beautiful. I might be able to look something like her, if I starved myself and worked out for about three hours a day. I've had health issues and I can't.

If I truly love someone, then I'm going to love them with more weight on them, should they happen to gain it. That's my point.

The main common denominator in porn is that the girls are not fat and take good care of their body. Otherwise, there are tall, skinny, thick, thin, older, younger athletic, curvy, etc... pornstars

Ladies, this idea that you need to be 100 LBs was instilled in you by gay fashion designers and Hollywood, not straight men. Straight men have always liked curves and a healthy figure. Stop blaming us for something that's not our fault

It's not about a certain weight though, it's just about being not fat. I don't see how that's an unreasonable standard, especially when you consider that both genders are subject to it

There are men who feel that way too but you gotta understand that men are more visually turned on. A girlfriend gaining a ton of weight is a huge turn off

What do you say to the men out there whose girlfriends dumped them once they hit rough financial times? You realize it's about the same thing right?

I think I felt good in my skin, for all of five minutes, in my late twenties/early thirties. I haven't felt secure for the past few years. I might feel more motivated to get moving, if I felt that I were acceptable as I am now - I work harder when I can concentrate, and when I'm happier, and don't have other things clouding my thinking. I've fallen into, "what's the point?" thinking due to my health, and the reactions I had from men around my age on online dating sites (as well as someone in my past, who can stay in my past, for all I care), who suddenly "prefer someone younger". what the hell?

I don't know anyone who has done that. I know of one couple who stay together for convenience, and they've cheated on each other at least once. They have a comfortable life, and stay together because they're too scared to change.

My sister is twenty-three years younger than her fiance, he has no money - he's on disability - and he's overweight. he looks pregnant, but she's still smitten. She's excited to be marrying him.

If I had a boyfriend who suddenly gained a lot of weight due to unjustified reasons, I'd lose attraction for him. I would still "love" him probably, but I'd lust after more in shape men.

I think what brahma isn't successively conveying is that: One, your physical appearance has a big effect on who you attract initially. Two, how much your physical appearance might effect your sex drive with a long term partner. In other words, he is taking love out of the equation.

Men don't only want models. The girl I'm seeing is not a model, probably could never be, and I couldn't be more attracted to her.
