Grinning Maniac Posted July 15, 2004 Posted July 15, 2004 Ok. Here's the deal. It's a bit of a long story, but I'll shorten it as much as possible. A while ago, I'd say sometime in March, I met this girl from my city in a chat room. We talked for a while, saw each other on cam, she was cute, so I continued to talk to her. She seemed like a really cool girl and it sounded like we had a lot in common. She was single(but dating), so I asked her if she'd like to see a movie once I came home from college on a break(which was soon). She said she'd love to. Time goes by, I'm excited to meet her, but unfortunately, before I even come home, she ends up getting into a relationship with one of the people she was dating. Like a gentleman, I withdrew from pursuing her and pretty much just wrote her off as another e-friend(meeting her while she had a bf would be weird for me). Not too long ago, I noticed that she was interested in talking to me more than usual. As soon as I signed on, she'd instant message me immediately and we'd talk for a very long time. Recently, she asked me why we've never hung out before even though we've known each other for a while and live in the same city. I lied and said that I didn't know why, although I'd think the reason would be obvious. Seeing no way to avoid it since she asked, I agreed that we should hang out sometime, and she gave me her cell number and told me to call anytime. "Call me anytime. I don't bite. Well, unless you bite me, then I may have to bite back. ;)" I called her a couple of days later and we had a really good conversation. A few days afterward, I decided to just admit the REAL reason why we never hung out. Just figured I'd be honest. She understood. The very next day, she happened to mention that she was having problems with "the bf", as she put it. Didn't talk much about it, seeing as any advice I would give would be VERY biased. Five days ago, she dumped him. It wasn't a messy situation either, he didn't even seem too concerned from what she told me. He just started a normal conversation with her afterwards. Well, I'm still interested in this girl, obviously. She knows I'm still interested in her, and I THINK she's interested in me. We've been talking even more than ever since then. Once, we talked for LITERALLY a whole day. Lately, she's been asking a lot of questions about me as well, almost like she's screening me... One thing she said in particular made my ears perk up: "So honestly, why are you single? You sound like a great person." I'm going over her house Friday night to hang out and play DDR with her. So, what I'm wondering now is: a) Does she actually like me? I'm not quite sure if she's interested in me or just wants another friend. ...and b) How do I go about asking her out again? Should I wait a while since she just got out of a relationship, or just go for it? What should I say? Thanks for your help.
xOxAshleyAnnxOx Posted July 15, 2004 Posted July 15, 2004 A) I think she does lik u at least a lil or she wouldnt want u to call her and she wouldnt talk to you alot n stuff.. B) Let her have a lil time.. when u kno for sho sure she likes you and wants a relationship with you then worry about that then but me being a girl and all i would want a lil time to recover from the last relationship and so on.. juss chill when u go to her house have a good time.. no worries and no pressure.. GoodLuck!! Tell me how it goes!!
Author Grinning Maniac Posted July 16, 2004 Author Posted July 16, 2004 Thanks for the advice. I'll post what happens tommorow.
Nubemeister Posted July 16, 2004 Posted July 16, 2004 DDR is Dance Dance Revolution. It's a game where you do exactly that...you dance. You follor the steps they give you onscreen, you try to beat the other person by seeing who can do it better. I guess that's the gist of it
myownme Posted July 16, 2004 Posted July 16, 2004 I have seen that at the movie theater and video arcades. Sorry I got off subject.
Author Grinning Maniac Posted July 17, 2004 Author Posted July 17, 2004 Well, plans got cancelled at the very last minute. Her boss called and she had to do something for work.
Author Grinning Maniac Posted July 17, 2004 Author Posted July 17, 2004 Well, I ended up meeting the girl after all. It rained, so she couldn't do what her boss wanted so she ended up stopping by my place after she took her friend to CVS. We talked in the driveway a little bit then she had to take her home. We're going to try and hang out early next week.
