Rebounder becomes confused after a few months when things became a little physical (no sex) and broke things off. After a few days, he said he wanted to move on from the past(relationship? do not believe it was serious, at least not mutually serious, and the other person is seeing someone else) but wanted to start things over with me so we agreed on being friends and seeing where things went. After a a few weeks, rebounder started pulling away to LC emails. I should note that things were never fast and intense; we only saw each other two times a week and there was never mention of the other person.

Rebounder wants to keep contact but "isn't ready to meet" and wants to keep things light. We're both a bit eccentric, which is why we clicked so well, so this wasn't a problem before except there hasn't been an explanation of the pulling away which is eating me up.

Advice on how to handle things? Should I keep trying with the LC or go NC? It's been a couple months of not seeing each other and LC. If it matters, we're late 20s/early 30s and both with very limited dating experience.

This person is doing the slow fade out.

Mirror his actions. Go about your life and don't wait for this person to step up. At the point I'd be receptive when he contacts you but don't bank on this turning into anything worthwhile.

Start dating others. Get your swag back.

I had called it out as a slow fade at the beginning of the LC and even offered to end things but he was adamant that it wasn't the case.

I'm not putting my life on hold; dating (anyone) is one of the last things on my mind. It's not understanding, not knowing how to react that's bothering me, and the lack of any reasoning behind the LC (despite being extremely frank during the BU) that's bothering me.

I have a rule. If a situation is "confusing" - it's actually crystal clear.

Go with your gut. He can tell you A, B or C but his actions are saying something quite different and you know it.

You can either have all of me or none at all, but these ambiguous dating sitches are for the birds.
