espec10001 Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Forgive me if this has been posted already, I searched and couldn't find anything. Anyway, I'm finding it very difficult to find women to date in my area because they're all tattoo'd. Now, before I get the "I didn't get tattoos for anyone else and I don't care what you think about them" speech, I want to know if any other guys find tattoos on women to be a HUGE turn off. At one time I guess they were seen as rebellious, but now every time I'm out in public or talking to a girl I notice the majority of them have ink! It used to be a sign of being unique, now in my eyes it's a sign of following the herd because everyone's got them, and with women with the beautiful bodies they already have I don't understand it at all. Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I've met countless chicks who were VERY PRETTY and had a nice body, but then I see the ink and I'm like "Another one? Really? Is this a disease or something?" So, FELLAS, do any of you feel the same way? 3
USMCHokie Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Not even slightly. I love tattoos on women...except on the face. But anything else is game. 3
mortensorchid Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Well quite honestly I find that those with tattoos tend to be with others who also have them. If you have just one or two, that's not a big deal. If you are decked head to toe with them, you would tend to be with others who also share the same passtime. I for one am not ready for that kind of commitment. 1
Imported Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 I am not into tatoos on women. If a female friend asked my opinion on getting a tat or not , I'd tell her "no, it is unattractive looking on women". But recently I feel very attracted to a girl I met and her whole arm is a sleeve of tats. 1
rocketman122 Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Not a big tattoo fan. its a huge turn off depending how many and how big. 1
MrCastle Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 So many different variables. I guess short answer would be it's neither a turn off nor a turn on. The long answer would be, it depends on many things. The actual tattoo, the size of it, the location, etc. If it's a small rose on your wrist, or ankle, cool. If it's your ex's name, in large, bold font, tatted on your ass cheek, we have a problem. Also, once in a while, I get a hankering for alternative hipsters, and a lot of them have tattoos. It's not the tats that turn me on per se, but their style. So, yeah, it really depends. Some girls can pull it off, others can't. So it's not something I'm actively looking for, but it's also not an automatic deal breaker. 4
kaylan Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Many guys dislike them, many guys love them. I love tattoos and prefer a chick with some. I dig them a lot. I dont like when guys or chicks go overboard as that takes away from the natural bueaty of the human form. I say get a few small pieces, or one large piece a couple smaller ones and then all is good. I have a tattoo on my chest, and a half sleeve that will soon be a full sleeve on my right arm. Might stop there or I may get a small piece on my back. But Im definitely leaving my left arm bare, and the rest of my front torso bare so I can show off my figure. As I said, its sexy in moderation.
Imported Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Would not let me edit. Wanted to say that if she had a tat in the small of her back above her ass, I'd probably treat her like an unpaid whore and would never take her seriously.

Tattoo location says nothing about who a girl is inside. The reason lower back tattoos got stigmatized was because of idiot guys. 1
Author espec10001 Posted August 14, 2012 Author Posted August 14, 2012 I guess I'm in the minority here. Mostly because I don't have any tattoos and I have no desire to get any either. I personally think they look cool on guys, but I just prefer a natural unmarked female body, that's just me. I wonder if it's dependent on where you live, like in U.S. they're probably more popular but maybe not other countries? 1
TLY22 Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 The difference between people who have tattoos and people who don't, is that people with tattoos don't care if you don't have tattoos. I have tattoos (not sleeves or anything) and I haven't had any issues with guys. Probably because you can't see them unless I'm in a bikini, underwear or naked. I get why people don't like them, but they don't change who a person is, they're just an external feature, like hair or clothes. I don't know, I've had people who loved me, and then I got a tattoo and suddenly I'm looked at differently. I think that's pretty friggin' shallow. But if you don't like them, fair enough. I just don't understand it.

Id say in general, that if a man or woman is sexy, the opposite sex is not gonna give a rats ass if they have a few well placed tattoos. I dont think you really are in the minority, as there are people who dont prefer tattoos. But I dont know many people who see them as deal breakers.

It's more an exception to find a woman in here 20's who has no ink. 1
Imported Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 What a noob. Tattoo location says nothing about who a girl is inside. The reason lower back tattoos got stigmatized was because of idiot guys. No way, you're the noob! Every skanky girl I know, has a tat on her lower back. Every girl I know with a tat on her lower back has proven to be promiscuous.

I guess Im a thug or dirty rocker since I have a sleeve and a few piercings right? Or are we playing double standard with gender and tattoos? 2

There are some women who get tattoos just because they can, but on a larger scale, it's just a tattoo, not a community, conformity or rebellion. What exactly makes them (tattoos) unattractive?
Cracker Jack Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Like a few others echoed, I have no issue with tats as long as they're not out of control. I remember seeing this woman that was really cute...but her entire body was pretty much covered in tattoo's. Lots of guys were on her, but I'm just not into that look. 1

The thing that bothers me is that tattoos today seem like a fad, except with fads in the past you could just remove the jewelry or change clothes but tattoos are very hard to remove. I was really into a girl recently but then I saw a huge tribal tramp stamp on her lower back and I admit that even though I was very physically attracted to her, a voice inside me kept saying "NOPE" 1

I think it seems like a giving in to peer pressure because all their friends have them, so they get one too. It's like that thing is cool because few people have them, then when everyone and their sister starts doing it, it isn't cool anymore. 1
Star Gazer Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Many guys dislike them, many guys love them. I love tattoos and prefer a chick with some. I dig them a lot. For every man that is turned off by them, there is a man who digs them a lot...like Kaylan, and others here. 2

It's more an exception to find a woman in here 20's who has no ink. Where I live it's very common to see people with tattoos, especially the creative types/hipsters. Personally I find myself getting a lot better with people who are inked also, as I am already. Most of my friends are inked and a girl I'm seeing has a few. I find an inked girl as attractive as an un-inked girl. However for the inked girl I think it depends how big the tattoo is and how much of it she has. I feel like tattooed people tend to have a more chilled personality than those that don't, just my experience. It's kind of like associating people who don't drink to be uptight/conservative compared to those that do drink, which I've often found to ring true in many cases.
AlexCross Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Not a fan of the tramp stamp. I am quite tattooed myself.
Feelin Frisky Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 I'm with ya, buddy. Can't stand the idea at all. not be so hard about it but you're right about it being a herd conformity now. It doesn't pass for bravado--doing without them does. 1
proseandpassion Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 I have noticed tattoos are not exactly 'counter culture' these days. I have none. Which is surprising, as I've always sort of identified with the punk crowd. Never even been tempted... I did find myself judging a male friends new conquest because of her really lame body art. She actually has a tramp stamp that says "tramp stamp" within the tattoo. I just think at some point you're disrespecting your body... 1
Feelin Frisky Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 My post got truncated so here it is fixed. I'm with ya, buddy. Can't stand the idea at all.
