I am gobsmacked. In theory, for every 3.5k calories worth of food I consume in excess of maintenance calories, should yield a gain of 1lb fat. My maintenance cals are 2100 (give or take), so that's 10000-2100= 7900. That's should be a gain of at least 2lbs post binge..but that's not the case. Weighing myself, I'm at the same weight I was when I weighed myself in the morning and I still looked ripped, albeit pumped due to the glycogen storage, but my abs are still defined regardless. I know a lot of the alleged weight gain is supposed to be water weight (your body retaining more water for a few days, before you deflate back to normal weight) and some should be a small increase in fat, but nothing! -_- I want to know why. Isn't my body processing the calories properly? I'm at a loss

You probably need to study how the body accumulates fat. You don't build up pounds of fat stores in a day. But where the excess is stored while it is processed, I don't know. It's an interesting question.

*scratches head* I had always assumed otherwise, that's kind of cool actually. Like legitimate cheating (internal health aside). It is interesting though, what did my body just do with all those calories, because I haven't been to the bathroom yet

Your body can only absorb so many calories at a time. Your small intestines are just a fancy osmotic filter and only so much material can pass through during the transit time of your food.

There are lots of studies out there about this. It's why you can stuff yourself on Thanksgiving and not gain any weight.

My word! I did.not.know.that. I will definitely be doing that at least once a month now. I'll have to research it properly. It's great for metabolism at least.

You can easily eat 2000+ plus calories per day and not gain weight, all you have to be doing is expending as much energy as you're taking in.

I'm pretty certain I didn't expend 7100 calories in one day. I pretty much sat at home all day and went to town on my fridge. The calories aren't all being processed/absorbed (at least that's what I speculate).
