2muchlove Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 In 10 days a mutual friend - from a large group of our mutual friends and acquaintances - will be moving away to another country. Obviously I want to see him before he goes. But I feel like there will be at least a 50% chance she will be attending the same party. I'm not sure if I'll be over her by then but even if I think I am. Seeing her will be a big punch in the stomach. So... If I go, and she's there. WTF am I to do. Obviously I'm going to try and have a grand ol' time. But damn, if I know her she will be rubbing everything in my face whether it be from a distance or up close. And if she's not there? Well then f**k this post.

Author 2muchlove Posted August 10, 2012 Author Posted August 10, 2012 is she seeing someone else?....if not mate, just have a couple of bevvies before you go, just a bit of dutch courage...and put a smile on..... Not easy, but hey she might be thinking the same, and not even go.... The last conversation we had (just over 3 weeks ago) she was kind enough to tell me she is talking to at least 5 different dudes. So I'm going to go out on a limb and say at least one of them will be there if she goes.
weallfalldown Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 well, you have to grin and bare it..........you prob won't look at her in the same light anyways, and just stay away from her......chat to other women there. What's to say she's def going?........**** it mate....don't let it get to you....or just don't go whatsoever.....
Author 2muchlove Posted August 10, 2012 Author Posted August 10, 2012 I guess what I'm really asking is what to do if she comes up to me and starts talking?
weallfalldown Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 well....just be mr confident, and let her know everythings cool in your life, tell her you haven't laughed about things in a long while etc etc.....
Chi townD Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 This is your time to say goodbye to a friend that's starting a new chapter in his life. Focus on that. If she happens to be there. Act like you're having the time of your life. Even if it's killing you. You need to put on an Oscar performance. Don't be all sad and depressed and standing in a corner not interacting. Don't let her see that her presence bothers you. If she tries to engage you in conservastion, keep everything light, short and civil. Be tactful and when she's not around you, open up to people again. Don't give her an ego boost by letting her see that you're upset that she's there. Sure, she might be uncomfortable, but you'll let her see she STILL has an affect on you. And that's what you don't want.
