My wife and i have been physically (she moved in with another man in another city) separated since March. Due to financial/stress issues we haven't started the legal proceeding for divorce yet. Open enrollment for HI at my job isnt until Nov and the only way i can drop her freeloading ass from my insurance NOW is providing the HR dept "Legal Separation Paperwork".

Can anyone tell me please how i go about obtaining this in Texas? Do i need a lawyer? How much will it cost usually? How long will this take?

Any advice on this matter will be a massive weight off my shoulders. Until then, ill just lay here and watch my 4 year old sleep and thank God i still get to be with him.

Texas does not offer legal separation - you are married or you are not.
