Yall are gonna be like well you gotta get a girl first sjc lol! Not that kind of cheating this: I've gained a hefty amount of weight these last 6 months:sick:! So on my next date (TBD) I'm thinking about getting one of those brown wraps that they wrap around ankles and legs for injuries and using one around my gut lol! I carry my weight pretty well but my stomach is getting too big so I was thinking about doing that. Why not? Women wear make up, wonder bras, girdles etc.

5'10" 220!

 

Never was muscular but a little flabby. But now my gut sticks out pretty good. I haven't been this heavy in a few years. I usually hover around 200 and got down to 185 last summer. I'm realistic that I'll never have a six pack or be real thin it's just the way my body is. I have a medium frame so my ideal weight would me about 165. Many years ago I got down to 167 but still had flab on my stomach.

One one hand I know this is my "peak" so It's not like I'm huge but on the other hand I hate it when rail thin guys eat the same crap I do and don't gain an ounce. But of course they're mad that they can't gain weight lol nobody is happy. But if I had it my way I'd take the rail thin bod!

Edit: Just diet and/or do some cardio dude. And I dont know any young women that use girdles. Its 2012 dude...whos doing that? All the thicker girls Ive known just rock what theyve got.

220 lbs is too heavy for a guy whos only 5'10. Your body is the way you let it be. Dont blame your body saying "its just the way it is". You have control over how you look. With the right diet and training, theres no reason you can be a healthy weight and have good musculature. Edited by kaylan

What's the difference between a skinny guy and a chunky/fat guy that eats whatever they want? Their weight, they're both not eating right or active, one just has a faster metabolism. I worked with 3 pretty thin guys and we all have the same poor diet and relatively inactive life style but they were blessed by the metabolism gods and I wasn't.

Realistic? 220 lbs for 5'10'' is huge! some stuff around your waist won't make any difference. get fit OP, don't blame it on the body and say 'it's how it is' or bring skinny people in as examples.

Sure I lucked out with a good metabolism, but I still hit the gym 4 times a week. I take control of my fitness. I may not need to slim down, but I do want to gain muscle and tone up.

 

I also want to make my cardiovascular endurance better for soccer.

 

Just do what you gotta do man. Sure nature didnt give you the best deal, but you can control what you eat and how much you work out.

If you really wanna get your cardio hit the pool if you have access to one. I swam some in HS and it blew my mind when I jogged halfway accross my apts to get something and was like "dam that didn't even phase me".

Increase your muscle mass and your metabolism will follow.

Get motivated to get in shape but in the meantime wear spanx if it makes you happy!

 

Your BMI is 31. You should look into losing weight if at least for the health benefits and the other benefits will follow.

Huge? He's a bit into the obese category (by about 10 - 15 pounds). That's hardly 'huge,' IMO. But, then again, like he said, he's got a bit of a lighter build, so maybe it shows more on him.

 

With a little work, he would be OK. I do caution you against the, "It's just how it is," mentality, OP. It reeks of depression and it reeks of, "Meh, I'm not worth it."

 

I do think other people will care about your weight far less than you think they do. Some girls (myself included) even have a preference for overweight mates.

 

Be active. Eat better. The rest will follow. And even if it doesn't, you've still made very positive changes for your health overall.

 

I would much rather be with a 300 pound guy who works out and tries to watch what he eats than a 200 pound guy who's wheezing while walking up steps and kicking back his tenth burrito for the afternoon.

OP stop your bitching and moaning and get your ass in the gym. I work out 5-6 days a week to look good, there's no reason why you can't do that

I'm not bitching moaning or blaming anything on any one. I'm far from huge I can assure anyone that. This forum is full of a bunch of haters who spin peoples words around. Would I do it? Probably not but it has crossed my mind lol.

I'm going on a diet I just gotta be in the right frame of mind. I'm heavy on fast food and soft drinks and when I cut soft drinks out I feel like crap from sugar/caffeine withdrawl. I know I can do it, last year I got down to 185!

I was 250 in high school (huge fatty) and I got down to 190 last year at 8% Bodyfat. Right now I'm back up to 204 because I gained some muscle but I'm working on getting down to 195 @ 8% bodyfat again

 

 

I have a huge appetite and I hate cardio. If I can be in shape, anybody can. PM me if you have any questions

Hit the gym instead. Meanwhile carry your extra bulk with pride. The wrap idea is ridiculous (no offense) and shows a lack of self-respect. Why are you resorting to these cheap shortcuts instead of taking more pride in how you look? Actually 5'10" is a pretty nice height and 200 is a nice weight because a lot of girls like bigger guys. Your mass just has to be in muscle.

According to the sensibilities of the US, it's actually better to be on the larger side as opposed to the thinner side. Women don't want men skinnier than they are.

 

I'm 5'10", hovering around 165, after years of hitting the weights at the gym hard and chugging protein shakes. I can lose 20 lbs easy. In fact I went with my GF on a short get-away trip two weekends ago. I wasn't eating regularly because we were out and about. Just one weekend, I dropped 3-4 pounds, unintentionally.

 

I have keep working to stay 165. Thin is not good. My goal is a reasonably lean 180. Not sure if I'll ever get there.
