I really think I am a decent guy. I am not just trying to get laid. I want to meet and date someone.

What kind of things should be put into my profile?

Briefly mention your kids - that's something that should not be hidden from potential dates. Do not say that you are divorced if you are only separated and haven't even filed yet - if that's the case, I suggest not dating until you've at least filed but ideally, only after the divorce has gone through.

Be positive, funny and honest but not blunt and tactless. Don't use negatives in your profile. Ensure you use the right keywords. If you want someone who shares your interests, ensure that you use the right keywords to describe your interests. Make sure you use spellcheck and that your grammar is good.

Make sure that it comes across that you are dating to look for a long-term relationship. That means having a substantial profile rather than a handful of sentences.

Photos, smile. Have some where you are looking in the camera. Have some that are taken when you are doing an activity of some sort. Perhaps one that is an indication of what you do for a living. Some casual outfit shots and perhaps some professional attire shots might be good. Make sure they aren't older than a year and are representative of how you look and dress now. Ask someone you trust to help you pick out the ones that are the most attractive but are still fairly faithful representations of how you look. Avoid taking cliched shots of yourself in the bathroom. Do not show abs, etc.
