Well I' not sure if this is the place to post this or not? But it is under the Romantic category.

What's I'm looking for is input from all of your LoveShackers (That just doesn't come out right ~ no matter how you say it ) about romantic ideas.

Not grandiose (OK I'll take those as well) but little day-to-day things?

I'll start!

Fill the inside of her car up with a bunch of balloons wit heart shaped Post-It-Notes in them that she has to pop with a needle (that you've taped to the outside of her car) just to get into her car?

Telling her with a dead serious face that you've got something SERIOUS to talk about with her, that you've had it on your mind for a long, long time ~ and your at a lost of words to speak with her about? (Got to be dead serious looking like you've just lost your job). Tell her that your actually a Prince who had a curse placed upon you by a witch ~ and that unless you receive at least two passionate kisses each and everyday and twenty on weekends? You'll turn back into a frog?

Then when she walks by you every now and again? You go "Ribbit!"

Knowing her morning routine and leaving heart-shaped Post_It-Notes wherever she goes ~ in the cabinet when she reaches for her favorite cereal, the coffee, coffee cup.

Leaving a note on a bunch on banana's that says I'm bananas for ya! Perhaps with a little toy stuffed monkey or gorilla that you've snuck in?

Going by the florist or grocery store and picking up a single violet and rose and leaving it with a note on your pillow that says' "Roses are red, violets are blue! I'm at work! But I'm thinking of you!" When you have to leave for work early and she's still in the bed?

Ladies what were some of your fondest memories from your Sweethearts/SO's/Husbands. I'm particularly interested in the little ones that got that "Ahhh!" and especially that made all of your girlfriends jealous and envious?

Awesome idea!!!

The above would be absolutely fun and adorable if she has nothing to do that day :) If it's before work though, that'd be a serious pain.

Lol!!! That sounds like a lot of fun!!! You have a great sense of humor!!!

I'm personally not a fan of post-it notes but I'm sure other women are. What my husband does is he writes me romantic lovey-dovey messages on our dry-erase board sticking to the fridge. I write him notes too.

Love it!!! :bunny:

Super romantic

If she likes to talk on the phone, call just to say hi and you love her, or send her texts about how you are thinking of her. I love it when my hubby does that!!!

Buy her favorite treat out of the blue and leave it somewhere with the note, "Sweets for my sweetie" My hubby doesn't leave a note but I love that he gets my favorite sweet (peppermint pattie) once in a while.

Buy her a potted plant that is beautiful. To me, potted plants are more beautiful than flowers that have been cut because they last longer and are so pretty.

Go walking with her. My hubby and I live in Florida, and nothing says "romantic" to me more than when he and I go walking by the beach and spend an evening at the beach together, just enjoying being together and holding hands and kissing and loving every minute of it!!!

I'm not sure. I bet that stuff is lovely for you and your wife but stuff that incorporates stuffed toys and animal noises is probably find a little bit OTT.

I like simple, spontaneous gestures. And diamonds.

Lol the animal noises think made me laugh. :)

My husband and I do have our little romantic growls and roars (like lions... yeah I know it's cheesy, but he started it and I LOVE it.) :bunny:

Another romantic thing he does is brush my hair... I love that! I don't brush his hair back (he has long curly hair) because it would just frizz but I give him massages and he loves that. It's romantic and calming to both of us.

I love the feel of his skin

Thanks for the replies and ideas. And for the balance of ideas as to likes and dislikes.

I'm not the "Duty Expert" on call, but I do know that key to anything romantic is to get to know the individuals likes and dislikes. That is to say, get to know the individual.

And as BetheButterfly said about the balloons in the car? Timing (Giving things some thought) is essential.

Balance I believe is another key and essential element. There is such a thing as too much of a good thing, and then there not being enough. I think one has to guard against being too predictable ~ and there's a lot to be said for spontaneity and being unpredictable.

Men have to guard against going over the top, and only confining romance to the "Big Essential Five ~ Anniversaries, Valentines, Her Birthday, Christmas, Mother's Day etc ~ Sidebar IMHO Mother's Day is not to me a romantic holiday ~ you'd just better not forget it. And for those men who don't have a clue? You'd best not forget it even if the children in your house you share with her aren't yours.

I found that getting to know the individuals likes and dislikes, personality, etc + being creative and imaginative is essential. That coupled and looking at what all the other men are doing that is traditional ~ and then doing something that is the exact 180 and un-expected.

I've also found that if you can do something that impresses her friends and makes them jealous? Sometimes (not all the time) may get you an extra point or two.

Had a young buck at work that was having a hard time on the home front ~ everything he said and didn't say, did or didn't do ~ landed him in the dog house. I asked him some basic questions ~ go a feel for his situation.

I told him to go and rent a policeman's uniform, get a pair of plastic handcuffs, call her boss on the sly and arrange for her to take Friday and Monday off from work, book a weekend at a bed and breakfast. And then go to her work and "arrest" her. To be sure to read her ~ her rights.

~ You have the right to remain silent, anything you say or do can and will be used against you.

~ You have a right to a weekend away from work, housecleaning, laundry, chores, errands, and the mudane day-to-day

~ You have a right to long soak in a hot tub with candles, soft music,

~ You have the right to a full body massage.

~ You have the right to be pampered

~ You have the right to a long stroll hand in hand

~ You have the right to be held

He came back to work grinning like the Chestershire Cat and all he would say was that he could do no wrong. He spoke to her boss, and he told him, "I don't know what you did, but whatever it is ~ keep doing it.

I thought this thread was dead on arrival. Just so much negative ~ reactive stuff here ~ thought it was time for some proactive.

Thanks

Gunny
