NotKelly Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 While watching the Summer Olympics, it occurred to me: this is virtually the only time of year (every four years!) that women get to see hot, well-toned men in various states of undress on their TV sets every night. Yay. (Meanwhile, practically every night of every year, men get to see good-looking women in revealing outfits on practically every TV show there is...) This got me thinking about the last time I actually saw a well-built shirtless guy in REAL LIFE while I was driving through the local college campus on the way to work. Why did he stand out so much? Because most guys on that campus are SLOBS. Beer guts, sloppy T-shirts, droopy shorts... this is STANDARD ATTIRE for the typical college guy -- while meanwhile, it seems women just dress up more and more to get their attention. WHY? Please explain to me why college women are competing with each other for the attention a bunch of men who have increasingly poor earning prospects, are drunk most of the time, and dress like complete slobs. I mean, the men don't even TRY to look good. (Even if you made them take their shirts off, they probably wouldn't be much to look at.) Why can guys get away with being so sloppy? 1
Els Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 Perhaps because you let them. I don't know about where you live, but the college I went to definitely was not full of men with beer guts. Although the guys with decent physiques weren't exactly walking around college with their shirts off either. Why would anyone do that? I don't exactly see girls in slinky little black dresses around college either. Most people in college, both guys and girls, dress quite sensibly and comfortably on campus. Concert/bar/party night is a whole 'nother story, though...
M30USA Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 Because many women aren't actually attracted to male bodies, but rather the personage of who a man is (ie, personality, status, money, etc). So men don't have to try to look good because they can get by without it. 1

brahmabull117 Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 I work out 6 days a week and look very nice when I go out I dress very comfortably the rest of the time though
Failboy Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 So you are suggesting men should walk around shirtless in random places? You have any idea how ridiculous that sounds? Plus, hot women never dress up for the men, they dress up for the other women. 1
amaysngrace Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 I'm glad I work next to a surf shop on the boardwalk. Shirtless hot bodies every single day! It bothers me when guys don't wear a shirt at night though up there. It looks dirty to me.
betterdeal Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 It's because women aren't as shallow as men, right?
threebyfate Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Been out of school for quite a number of years but I haven't noticed college girls dressed significantly better than the guys. If you think about it, who wants a guy who can't relax? H. wears suits to work almost everyday except for casual Friday. When he comes home, the first thing he does is to ditch the suit and with the weather so hot, pull on a comfortable pair of shorts and a t-shirt. Either way, he looks marvelous!

Not sure if OP meant sloppy in terms of dress...I seemed to read it as sloppy in terms of hygiene, grooming, and relative levels of physical fitness...

amaysngrace Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 *shrugs* Had no idea men could put on their beer guts. That reminds me...yesterday in some store in Atlantic City they sold women's underwear with a built-in bootie...like a padded bra for your butt. Definitely one of the strangest things I've ever seen. And similar to a beer gut tee for guys but more like a built-in bicep and shoulder shirt for guys. We should market them...do you think they'd sell?

amaysngrace Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Consider shoulder pads on suits. So why not the rest? We should! And maybe even built-in bulging briefs while we're at it. Yes OP women try much harder to impress men than men try to impress us. But that may change...
TaraMaiden Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 It happens a lot in the UK, and I've mentioned it before... go to any town or city in the UK on a Friday or Saturday night, and there are hundreds of couples either going to clubs or the cinemas, or to pubs and bars... and no matter what the weather, girls wear the skimpiest, most revealing garments possible (without being arrested for indecency) and the highest heels they're unable to walk on, make-up on, hair done, bling glittering... and the men with them are the sweatshirt-jean-trainer brigade. to a man. In truth, no matter what the opinion of what young ladies are currently wearing as "glad-rags", they make the effort. thy do their hair, make up nails and legs and try to look their best. I've yet to see a man under 30 look elegant. Either at work, or at leisure with a young lady on his arm. it's deplorable, and sloppy, inconsiderate and damn rude.
Radu Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 I have to admit, i did not notice the obvious dynamic here. LOL ... this would make for a fun date. Her in jeans, sneakers, t-shirt. Him in very short skimpy shorts, fishnet shirt. Would be awesome to see ppl's reactions. 1
TaraMaiden Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Yeah, let us know how that works for you.......
Radu Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Yeah, let us know how that works for you....... I'm tempted ... but i have manboobs and i'm not the kind of guy to flaunt them, i'm not easy.
TaraMaiden Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 I do understand. A low-cut, cleavage-revealing dress can be unsightly, if chest hairs are visible.... 1
durentu Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Why can guys get away with being so sloppy? Because pussy is so much easier to get now. There are many girls who will give it up without requiring the guy to buff up, dress well, and be of strong character. supply and demand. sorry.

There are many girls who will give it up without requiring the guy to buff up, dress well, and be of strong character. supply and demand. sorry. If 'pussy is so much easier to get now' why are there so many threads on how picky women are, and what they want, and how guys can't get dates because ladies are in short supply?
Radu Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 I do understand. A low-cut, cleavage-revealing dress can be unsightly, if chest hairs are visible.... You think i should wax ? PS: I'm not getting the operation to have them reduced, it apparently reduces feeling in the nipple.
