madjac74 Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 Oh yes, the detours are our way of telling God we can do it ourselves, and do it better than He has planned for us. But He always wins, in the end. I was moved to read the story of your ex-husband's miraculous recovery. I'm in a prayer drought at the moment. Every time I go to pray, I lose my words. Of course, I know exactly what I was going to say before I said it, but then, bam, hands up, on my knees, I stumble. I need to work on my prayer form, anyone have any tips? I don't think there is a proper form. I'm sure you are doing it just fine 1
TheFinalWord Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 (edited) And throwing one's hands up and saying "We can't know, but god does!" is useless, because unfortunately for us god (assuming such a thing exists) never saw fit to tell us, yet we're the ones with the moral responsibility of our actions. So we need to put in the effort to figure it out. He told us; man has chosen to ignore it. "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you" "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. 14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. 15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. 16 Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. 17 How precious to me are your thoughts,God! How vast is the sum of them! 18 Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand— when I awake, I am still with you." Edited September 6, 2012 by TheFinalWord 1
pureinheart Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 I would like to apologize because I did not mean to belittle your miracle and the amazing recovery of your family's loved one. Whether it was a miracle, luck, coincidence or whatever I am sure you and your daughter are happy with the result. I just sort of get irritated when people attribute miracles to someone who may or may not be real when there are doctors, teachers, etc... who make real miracles everyday and who receive little praise. Obviously you did not do that and again please accept my apologies. No apology needed, in my faith, doctors (medical staff as well), teachers, lawyers and lol, even politicians are miracles. The " even politicians" was just a joke:) ...I am so glad you brought that point up because you are right. These very needed people receive more flack than they do praise IMO. Most unselfishly give of themselves. Thank you for your kindness as you raise the bar with class:)
