Sadly, I think I'd latch onto that ghost of a promise and have one of the best nights of my life, followed by about thirty of my worst. What's the saying, with great pleasure, great pain follows not far behind? And I highly doubt that's the last you've heard from her. If you two really are that way together where you can't be in the same room, rejecting her will be the biggest thing she's going to think about now. I don't think she'll just say "well, I guess he's moved on, better if I let it be"; I think she'll come back full force, especially after she breaks up with her self-described rebound. The getting will definitely be good at that point, but I think we all know that won't last in any measurable form. And if it does, you did the impossible and we'll erect a statue in your memory on LS.

But it won't Going back to NC by choice now. It's time to try again. I really don't regret anything I did in the last few months. I guess you could say breaking NC gave me the closure i wanted. I got to see that she's not happy and that shes using some new guy. I want her to be happy but shes not allowing herself to be, and that is no longer my problem. I wonder how long before i hear from her again if ever.

It's hard though, sometimes your mind plays tricks on you and rationalizes messed up behavior. I doubt there will be any more contact on either side. But people seem to think ill hear from her again.
