I am really confused. I am not shy, Im the total opposite. I know how to talk to girls, it's just that I don't know how to approach them correctly and don't know what to say when the awkward silence takes over for a second. I think either I crack too many jokes, come on too strong, or maybe I just suck at one on one conversations.

THAT'S NOT TRUE...Nobody sucks at having a one on one conversation. Unless you live in complete isolation. The problem I have noticed with people and myself is that we think too much of what we are going to say. Whenever I over think what is being said, I end up stumbling all through the chit-chat session. Later on I wanna pound myself in the head for saying such idiotic things. Anyway, having awkward silence is a given in any situation b/c you really don't know the person well. Basically what I am trying to say is that you just have to find some common ground and just let it flow. Confidence will also help too! Hope I could help! :D

Don't worry too much about the silence. Silence is natural. Try to relax during the silence. You have to give the other person room.
