No, the majority of women prefer a guy taller than themselves.

in heels usually

Its not just about being taller its being taller or at least average to other men,the shorter you are under 5'10 the less attracitve you are to women when they size you up with other men

Uh... no. Personally, I think a 6'3" guy would look really weird with me because I wouldn't even reach his armpit. We'd look like father and child, not partners. And I know many women who echo this sentiment. I personally don't give a crap about height and would never exclude a man purely due to being too tall or too short, but my preferred height in a man is most definitely not 6'3".

Elswyth you just made me sad! Girls I date usually reach my armpits :(

Fair enough, I still think you're in the minority. The overwhelming majority of women do want a guy who is 6+ feet. This is pretty much a fact that's been studied over and over again

With women's weight, I just don't think it's the same thing because guys want a nice figure and you can have a very nice figure at 5'0 100 or 5'10 170 - dependent on bone structure, genetics, bone density, level of muscle mass etc....

All I'm saying is losing weight doesn't necessarily make you more attractive to men

Awww, I'm sorry, hon. I did once date a 5'10" guy, and I came up to just about his shoulder. It was okay, but there was some difficulty in, uh, embracing, and I had to crane my neck quite painfully to look up at him a lot of the time. Current bf is about 5'7" so I reach up to his chin, just right. I'd never disqualify a great guy solely because of his height, though, and I'm sure the right woman for you won't, either!

Really, would you like to quote me these 'studies'?

I don't get how some people don't get sarcasm. My post seemed quite clearly tongue-in-cheek, no????

But it's the same with age, so stop arguing your pointless points over and over again.

Many if not almost all men definitely prefer women younger than themselves, and marriage statistics support this - most men marry women around 5 years younger than them.

Age, unlike weight, is a factor women can influence as little as men can influence their height, so my comparison is totally valid.

So if women discriminate men for height, men discriminate women for age.

Oh come on. Every woman talks non stop about how she wants a 6+ foot guy on dating websites. Do you really want me to dig up the studies on this?

Fair point, but a lot of women do talk about that and act like all guys want a skinny girl when weight has nothing to do with it. It's about how your figure looks, not what the scale says

I never thought about how tall a guy was. Honestly, I have historically been with tall guys (around 6 feet) but height was never a conscious preference.

My husband is just under 5'9". I NEVER think about his height, or wish he was tall. Never.

It's possible that he might prefer that I was shorter. He traditionally was with women 5'3" and shorter. I'm 5'5". I don't really care. We love each other the way we are.

I dunno, I've never cared about age like that. I would actually want someone that's exactly my age in a perfect world

This prejudice against short men is bad for tall men too.

Does she like me or is she using me for my height?

How do you use someone for their height? Getting things off the top shelf at super markets? I do that for free with no romantic ties necessary

When I was 19, I was seeing a girl who was 5'10 (same height as me). It was cool, I didn't mind. She had monster curves and beautiful long legs - she was 5'10 170 (worked out all the time)

Truth be told, I would prefer to date somebody who is maybe more like 5'4 130 so I can throw them around and feel dominant when we're having sex but that's not the end all/be all

Actually I wouldn't mind being with a thin/petite girl as long as she still had a nice ass

Sounds like it would be fun, I would carry her over my shoulder with 1 arm :p

I guess my cut off would be my own height which is 5'8. I've dated my height and a couple inches taller. I'm always taller than boyfriends when I wear heels and I wear them a lot. Many guys have told me I'm the tallest girl theyve dated. Again those are guys just around my height. Me and my bf look like we are the same size lol. I know he is used to smaller girls. He calls me curvy lol I weigh 125 lbs. anyway.

Not so tall that he perceives himself to be above everyone, not so short that he's terminally afflicted with Napoleonic complex.

Years ago, I had a boss who wore lifts in his shoes. You could see them as he was walking down the stairs. The sad thing was, he was actually about 5 ft 10" which is a perfectly decent height...but he was determined to hit that 6 ft mark. The colleague who first alerted me to his lifts said that she'd once asked him about them (she was the type) and he'd said "being 6 ft makes all the difference to a man."

He calls you 'curvy' and you're 15 pounds underweight?

Thin women can be curvy if they have nice boobs/butt, that's the real definition of the word anyways. It's not about being big boned or overweight. Curvy = small waist with curves

Anyways, I wouldn't call her undersized. She might just have a smaller bone structure. People look different with different genetics. My friend is 5'10 165 and he looks very muscular. I would look horrible if I got down that thin because I'm naturally a bigger dude

I'm not underweight. I'm small boned and have been skinny since I was born. I was 104 til I was like 24 that was underweight. I look very healthy. I do have wide hips, decent sized boobs and butt, that's what he means by curvy

At least some of us prefer around our own heights tho. If I was 5'6 I would date a guy your height no prob. Personally I think 6 ft would be too big for me I don't like feeling overwhelmed by a guy.
