communityFan Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 Believe it or not ladies, guys have a lot more body hair than you think. Society pushes the hairless, waxed chest look frankly a lot us just don't look like that. I feel somewhat self-conscious about it even though body hair is completely normal and natural. I am going to attempt getting back into dating and I was just wondering what women expect nowadays? For reference I have hair on my chest, a small patch on my back and on my butt. I also keep the man region neat and trimmed. So what should a hairy guy do? Should I go for wax removal Forty Year Old Virgin style? Thanks in advance for your responses.

mesmerized Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 Well you get to see how women feel. We have body hair too and it's natural. I know, shocking! Depends on the woman you're dating, some would like it some wouldn't. It seems to me like older crowd prefer hairy while younger women tend to prefer minimal amount of hair. 1
CarrieT Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 If you are comfortable in your own skin, than that is the most important thing. Being in my late 40s, I was shocked when I started dating men my age who waxed and shaved. I never did until now and the amount of manscaping going on was driving me nuts! (Nothing worse than rug burns on my crotch from too-aggressive sex when there is stubble!) I'm with a guy now who is hairy EVERYWHERE. Initially it bothered me but as he is comfortable with himself, so I have become more comfortable and now it is like having a sexy, cuddly teddy bear who furry all over... 1

I hate that I have a good amount of chest and stomach hair and I love how it looks. I trim it and stuff but I hate the completely shaven look. I think chest and stomach hair looks masculine, especially if you're a big dude (not fat of course). All these guys at my gym who shave their legs and arms look ridiculous I'm trying to get the Shawn Michaels look - http://www.prosource.net/content/images/layout/articles/michaels/shawn-michaels2.jpg

Some men are just covered in thick long hair everywhere, I couldn't take that tbh, no matter how hot the guy is.

It'll give you a nice natural hairy look that's not crazy
tigressA Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 I love hairy guys. The hairier the better. I think it's really masculine and just...HOT. I'm not really into guys who aren't that hairy naturally. And if a guy I was dating shaved/trimmed his chest hair I'd be pissed. There are some women who are like me, some women who prefer less hair, some women who prefer none. Like everyone else said, just be comfortable with it. The right woman will love you and your body hair.

Most young women nowadays do not like body hair They'll tolerate it if you're hot and buff, but it's not really desirable and certainly not to the extent you're describing it. Any more than say Shawn Michaels = gross to them - http://www.prosource.net/content/images/layout/articles/michaels/shawn-michaels2.jpg

SmileFace Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 When I was younger, as younger as I can get. Haha, before I was actually dating or had sex I always said hairy guys were gross. The idea was disgusting. However my opinion at that point was merely based off of society. Now a little more experinced - this doesn't matter to me one bit. My ex is egyptian and was hairy all over and I loved it. This makes no difference to me. However I don't mind manscaping or guys who are just less hairy. This really makes no difference to me. However hairy guys are more fun to cuddle with.

FitChick Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 I am not attracted to any man who looks like Bigfoot. Try laser hair removal, at least on your back and butt. Then use clippers on the rest if you don't want to wax. Of course some women like hairy men.
USMCHokie Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 In my experience, some women certainly do have preferences, but more often than not, their "preference" for hair is based on their level of attraction and affection for the guy in question. If she's really into him and he's hairy, then suddenly she "loves" hair on a guy. If he doesn't have a hair on his body and she's very attracted to him, then suddenly she "loves" smooth skin. Just as we discussed last night with humor, people tend to inflate the value of another's qualities if they find them attractive. I would venture to say that body hair preference is no different. 1
SmileFace Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 How can that be? I love smooth skin, except on arms. They have to have hair on arms They are warmer. However this makes no difference generally speaking. It is just added perks to the person you are seeing. It is what may someone more special
Ruby Slippers Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 I used to prefer less hair - but now that I'm dating a hairier guy who I really like, I am very quickly growing to love it. He trims the hair on his chest and stomach, but I can't wait until he just lets it grow wild. I think it's gonna be hot

I think it's gonna be hot That's what my current does--according to him it becomes a total jungle if he doesn't, like a really thick mat of hair that starts poking up out of his shirt necklines . I told him I want to see it like that

eleanorhurting Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 i love a hairy man. manscaping (as in trimming, not getting completely rid of it) is good though. 1

SmileFace Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Wait a second, you called me gross when I was talking about my chest hair? No I said the gold chain was gross.
ptp Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 No I said the gold chain was gross. So you really think I walk around with my shirt unbuttoned gold chain hanging and with a gold watch? This is the problem with the medium of text.

Yes, that in itself is gross. However I really just don't like gold chains at all. I really don't care for jewelry on guys outside of a nice watch.

SF, I am not trying to be Disco Stu from the 70s, I was being facetious when I said I was trying to draw the attention of women by wearing that stuff. If you could have seen my face you would know that. Unfortunately, we only communicate in text. I don't own a gold chain nor do I own a gold watch.
