runningfar Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 I'm reading this stuff about how people can't get a date in their league, etc... and it has me wondering... How do you determine your league? How do you even know what league you are in? I'm not even sure how to tell how attractive you are since friends aren't going to tell you the whole truth because when you like somebody you see them in a generous light. League includes more, I think -- though if it's talking about strangers on the street being approached, maybe not. What is your league and how do you know?
CarrieT Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 I have ranted often on this site and elsewhere... THERE IS NO LEAGUE! (And I really hate that sentiment). Everyone is equal to another and there is no way to determine when/where someone will find another person attractive. I knew a college dean with multiple degrees (a woman) who met and married a man who barely had a high school diploma and couldn't find work much beyond being a day laborer. Everyone told this woman that this guy wasn't in her league. You know what? They have been very happily married for more than 20 years. Get the concept that there is a league out of one's brain and the world will be a better place across the board. 3

Titanwolf Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 The only leagues I know, is The league of extraordinary gentleman and the justice league. Everything else is a lie.. 3
USMCHokie Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 Sorry Carrie, but I have to disagree with you here...it may not be scientific fact and may not be proven beyond a shadow of a doubt, but people tend to be attracted to those of similar attractiveness levels simply because we naturally try to pair up with the most attractive person who is willing to pair up with us. This will inherently form the proverbial "leagues," so to speak, as the most attractive people will seek and pair up with the most attractive people. As you go further down the totem pole, people will pair up with those similar to them since the ones "above" them have already been paired up with like individuals. And this goes all the way to the bottom. 1's will generally pair up with 1's, while 10's will generally pair up with 10's. Leagues aren't the cause, they are the effect. We naturally fall into leagues; not create leagues and stay within them. Of course this is all generally speaking, and attraction speaks for general attraction encompassing all aspects of physical and non-physical attractiveness. 2
Bristolius Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 Aren't there only two? The majors and the minors right? 1
ptp Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 I checked the list in High School, it was posted outside of PE class. You must have been sick that day? 1
carhill Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 I asked Jules Verne. He said 'you sleep with the fishes'.
somedude81 Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 Based on my experiences you're league is what you can get. The only leagues I know, is The league of extraordinary gentleman and the justice league. Everything else is a lie.. Not only am I a member of the Justice Leauge of Extraordinary Gentlemen, I'm also the president.
