Yea. I notice, no one is answering your question... just dancing around the subject.

I like occupations that put people on television. It's interesting to get their take on the behind the scenes parts.

Thanks! I'm glad someone else sees what I mean.

There is no wrong occupation to answer with.

It changes, but I do gravitate to men that have particular occupations. I always have, depending on my own interests at the time.

When I liked motorcycles I dated mechanics. When I was adventurous I dated pilots. Forget the engineers for me. Not attorneys either, although that was a short phase. Ive actually recently discovered that judges are hilarious , so that occupation is drawing me a bit right now.

I'm over 45 so clearly my interests have changed.

Some judges can be pretty crazy.

Odd. Thanks.

So far, two people have wanted to make it clear..."I make my own money."

Great! Hope you make tons and are completely satisfied with what you do for it!

Now back to the original question:

What occupations would one have that interests you more?

What occupations would one have that interest you less?

I did answer that. Mine. That way, we could talk shop. I'm an ethologist, if that matters.

The answer to your second question is: all of the other ones. Except mine.

When it comes to dating, occupation doesn't matter that much as long as he likes his job.

But if I was in a room full of men with different occupations, the ones that would intrigue me the most would be (in no particular order):

-- Landscaper

-- Sexton

-- Funeral director

-- Anything related to athletics

-- Contractor

-- Politician

-- Curator

-- Food scientist

-- Anything related to films or music

-- Small-business owner

I'm sure there are others as well.

Thanks. Except for Politician of course. :p (I kid. No wrong answers.)

No true preference. I like to hear about goals more than anything.

what you say is simply never true for anyone.

So you're saying I'm lying??

I'm not.

Yours and others' responses, while noble, screams of PC and not wanting to be viewed as the bad guy.

Do you honestly think I give a crap if strangers here think I'm a bad or good guy based upon my opinions of occupations? Ha.

If you find things more interesting like truck drivers, doctors & carpenters vs. lawyers, artists, & landscapers-that's more probable and perfectly fine.

I already told you that I am not interested in the profession of "truck driver," yet I married a man with that job. I find HIM interesting.

To not associate the two is an argument with so little foundation it is laughable to say or give recognition.

I can't make heads or tails of that sentence, but I think it is meant to be an insult?!?!

Okay, the following professions are very interesting and sexy:

Movie star

Rock star

Pulitzer prize winning journalist

Astronaut

Cowboy

Fireman

Oil baron

Mercenary soldier

Poet

Novelist

Inventor of amazing stuff

Top Chef

Nobel Prize winner in any category

you make good choices. I wonder what you think of undertakers like me. I usually do well picking up women in bars mostly so I'm not sure what to make of that outside it.

I thought about going into the field when I was younger, but truly, an anxiety problem prevented it. And as I have aged, (30) I have become increasingly anxious about death. I have not had much exposure to it on a personal level (just a great-grandmother).

When I think undertaker, I just think how it is related to one if my biggest fears that I am most avoidant of. I'm just trying to be honest.

I think it's a solid profession though and demand is going to rise over the next 20+ years. I think it also isn't prone to layoffs, but that's my best guess.

I am guessing that after awhile it becomes just like any day job. ? ? ?

I think that certain sets of women would find that rather intriguing (and oh there would be stories for sure!) but others would find it odd in a way. I dont find it odd per se at all.

Thanks. Btw.

Good answer.

But only if he was good at it.

Tbh, I'd only want the surgery. I'd feel weird dating a guy that frequently looked at other women's boobs to improve them. At some point I'd feel like he was studying me strangely.

Which brings me to: no gynecologists, no sexually-themed jobs (I.e. Porn store, strip club, gigolo, bodyguard for an escort blah blah blah)

Nothing illegal. Nothing shady. Not into that at all!

I would find an astronaut super-intriguing, but I would get very jealous.

I think working on a film crew for amazing nature movies such as "March of the Penguins" would be super interesting.

Heck, film directors qualify as people with intriguing jobs.

Pro poker players, too.

The cosmetic surgeon plus is that it wouldn't be better if it were you who had this occupation. I doubt that one can perform cosmetic surgery on oneself, unless the circumstances are very specific and only local anesthesia is used. So dating and / or marrying someone with that job could reap many enhancing benefits.

Oil baron is good, too.

Also, kings, emperors, princes, sheiks and presidents all are intriguing occupations. Probably very stressful, but they'd def be a big draw at that backyard barbecue.

Treasure hunters, too.

I wouldn't want to be married to an actor.

If he was a good actor I would never know for sure what his real deal was.

And if he was a terrible actor..... Well.... Steven Seagal, ugh! The relationship would stink to high heaven. I would have to hold my nose all the way to the bank!

Docytors and lawyers generally suffer from professional narcisism.

That being said, i dated a girl who was in medical school and was specializing in dentistry.

She had to constantly talk about my teeth.
