TG1 Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 If anything who in a relationship cheats more, men or women? On a natural consensus, when it really boils down to it? I would say it is fairly even on both sides but in most cases I would say men have a tendency to cheat more than women do but also women have been known to cheat too. Women when they cheat, they tend to do it not just for physical reasons but for emotional reasons too. And when women get caught cheating, they are so quick to blame their boyfriends and or husbands for cheating but for men when we cheat, we do it purely on a physical level but yes men tend to blame their girlfriends and or wives in some cases but when we cheat and we are caught, we tend to deflect by saying we haven't done it when we clearly have because of the fact we want to stay in our relationship and we don't want our women to walk away from us
Author TG1 Posted July 24, 2012 Author Posted July 24, 2012 And where are you getting your sources from ? Loveshack posts, google, door to door census data, personal experience? Just curious. Actually just purely though personal experience and also from observation I have seen with other people's relationships
somedude81 Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 I'd think that cheating is pretty even on both sides. Only the reasons are different.

Chi townD Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 I'd say it's closely even, but women have more of an opportunity. 1
dasein Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 About even these days. The myth of the naturally philandering male is fading out very rapidly as more and more women cheat and get caught. Far and away more stories of cheating GFs than BFs in the cheating/flirting subforum here, but that's not indicative of anything, maybe that men have a less IRL support network or are more sensitive about being cuckolded, so seek anonymity here. The only gender warrish difference I see between men and women cheating is that though both genders do some gaslighting in the fog of cheating, female cheaters are much more prone to fabricate total alternate histories and extreme distortions of reality consisting of fictitious bad acts that led to the cheating than male cheaters are. Men are more likely to give it up once caught and fess up as opposed to blame shifting and creating some imaginary state of events or history. The old cliche' "if he cheats, it's his fault, and if she cheats, it's his fault" still rings true due to the amazing female powers of rationalization IME. 2
USMCHokie Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 There are theories that suggest women might have a higher tendency to cheat due to the physiological changes which occur due to their ovulation cycle...
Chi townD Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 Men, of course. LOL! yeah...right! If a guy is at work and says, "Man, I had a rough day. I need to go to the club and hook up with someone tonight." He's got a 50/50 shot at being successful. A woman can say the same thing and I will tell you that you will be hard pressed to find a young heterosexual male that is going to turn IT down.
Chi townD Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 Historically, the numbers have always been higher for men. Women have been catching up, however. That's because guys are stupid and they get caught. Women are slick as hell!

I don't think you understand what 50/50 means

KR10N Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 I always her from women: "men are such a**holes, they always cheat." I always hear from men: "women are such bitches, they always cheat." Guess what, they both cheat pretty much equally.
armysoldierssweetie1 Posted July 27, 2012 Posted July 27, 2012 It's a deal breaker if both partners cheat on each other, but it's also he say she say kinda deal....that is if they're both willing to come clean with each other and not make up some excuse and not tell their loved one.
GLDheart Posted July 28, 2012 Posted July 28, 2012 I'd say the answer is "The Insecure One" and leave it at that.
carhill Posted July 28, 2012 Posted July 28, 2012 I don't know the true answer but I can say that far more women than men have voluntarily shared with me that they were/are unfaithful to their partners/husbands, with 'unfaithful' defined as having physical genital sex with another man. Excursions such as what some have had with me, known as EA's on LS, most have not seen, when asked, as 'affairs'. No dickinsider, no affair. That's my anecdote.
