People in general these days seem immature and age and gender doesn't really matter. Have you ever seen how some sports dads or pageant moms act? I would beg to be kidnapped if I had parents like that.

Somewhere between my age and ten years younger. I'd only date older if he had a lifelong commitment to health and fitness.

Both girls and guys in their late teens/early 20s are quite immature and it's hard for me to really see the difference between genders.

No.

I'm mid-20s and I've dated from -2 to +7. I might even go as high as +10, but would definitely never go younger. Even -2 was a stretch. I can only do grown-ups - maturity, basic education completed, living independently without parents, etc., and most guys in their early 20s...are not even close. Not attractive imo.

On the other hand, I'd never date a guy who was previously married/has kids. That's not attractive either. It's a fine line.

I am quite accidentally dating someone significantly older than me. More than 20 years older, actually. He is the best thing that's happened to me in a long time. I think you like who you like, though, and shouldn't set out to date a certain age. Age is just a number, but with age comes experience, with experience comes wisdom, etc. We never run out of things to talk about, that's for certain.

I disagree.

I don't want to start a gender war though, I have just seen for myself that women tend to mature at a faster pace than men do.

Disagree all you want. Weve had threads about this unfounded assertion.

Maturity is individual and not about the gender. I have seen for myself, as have many others, that young women are just as immature as young men. Why do you think dude here talk about how annoying young women can be? Because many are immature party girls. Yet theyll be the first to label guys their age as immature boys who just want sex, when thats exactly what older guys want to use them for. The party girls want sex too, some just try and put themselves on a pedestal above guys their age....meh

Im sorry that you buy into the old "mature for your age" shpeel that older men feed you. Its an ego booster in a guys seduction arsenal. Any woman here can tell you shes a number of older guys try to feed her that line. And its funny when Ive seen guys hit on a friend of mine, and call her super mature, when the reason I never went after her is her immaturity.

You are partially correct. Women physically mature faster than men, but mentally men and women develop at the same pace.

Only in teenage years did I find myself more mature. After that men catch up pretty fast, I was surprised myself! Now I would say a lot of my peers are more mature than me. The only difference is women feel the pressure to become mature faster due to the agism that exist in our society. This however does not mean that they are all able to handle this transition well.

You probably think you're mature even though you're 22, yet you post pics of yourself with your tongue out on an internet forum. No offense but it does show your age....

Hey nothing wrong with showing your tounge. That to me is not indicatitve of your of maturity or age. Now posting private information and pictures on the internet indicates albeit naivety which may indicate some form of maturity level.

So true!!

Also, ever notice that the only people who call themselves "mature for my age" are like late teen/early 20 yr old girls? We ALL think we are wise beyond our years at that age, which is fine, but at some point you realize that no 21 yr old girl or boy is MATURE. Really.

Why not embrace being young and silly? It's not a bad thing! It's a super fun time, why make it more than that? Just take it for what it is!

I've never dated a younger woman. Every girl has either been my age, or older by a few months or years.

I could hook up with younger girls (not too young) but to date them seriously, no.

Not sure if there is a bigger turn off out there than immaturity.
