Sanman Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 Indeed. ....... I like that though, sign of an active mind. Different strokes I guess.
utterer of lies Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 I like that though, sign of an active mind. Different strokes I guess. Everyone can drone on. But writing a text that contains all you want to say in a short paragraph is hard. The profile is an advertisement for yourself. Get to the point. All the background information won't help if you don't click with the other person.
Eternal Sunshine Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 When I see a profile that long, I don't do much more than skim. It just tires me out. Virtual stranger doesn't have enough interest in you to read walls of text.
Author Janesays Posted July 21, 2012 Author Posted July 21, 2012 Hey, I just answered the questions asked. Doesn't matter though. I'm happily taken now! 2
Vintage79 Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 I'm really happy for you in that you met someone. As for the profile - it seems like you're trying to hard to be something that you're not, but want to me, it seems forced and overly quirky. If you're looking for those type of guys, it was probably a home run. As usual, and what's likely been alluded to - know the audience - you frequently get sincere responses from people that are close to mirroring yourself. I don't think I would have written to this profile (although I rarely write to profiles), but if I got a letter from this person, I'd probably be intrigued, although a few of the statements were definitely a bit off putting (ui.e. see paragraph 1) 1

I don't like quirky people and those kinds of profiles put me off but that's a matter of taste. Attracting your target audience is the key thing, for that it must have worked.
