DMS Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 Hey all, sorry for the format of this I am on my cheap phone. The ex's birthday is today and she is on my mind, even dreamed of her the last couple nights, which I have not done since March when she left for her new boyfriend. Instead of turning this into a cry for help I decided to post here as an update / reminder to myself of just how far I have come. On top of losing 40 lbs I have found a group of singles in my age range from the church I now attend ( got out of going years ago but reconnected at the beginning of the month ). Also, after getting fired over a month ago for applying to my old job, which ended up falling through, I started a new job working for an insurance agent who offered me a job after I was in his office explaning things to my mother. I have to take a class to get an insurance license for this job so the class and trying to learn all the info that is being thrown at me has kept me busy and my mind off of the ex for the most part. Things are looking up for the first time in a while.
JJ72 Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 Excellent!! Just goes to show, you can take something negative and turn it into something positive.
AlexanderJames Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 Good work for posting on here mate. My ex's bday was a s***ty time for me as well Mostly because of the way she acted. At least she's not having a go at you for not wishing her a happy birthday. Sucks about the dreams. I "think" I dreamt about my ex too last night, but I didnt really remember anything when I got up which I usually do. But like you said you've made so much progress, don't let yourself forget that. Good on you for getting out, losing weight and meeting new singles Rediscovering all of the opportunities for new things in your life. Makes you feel good doesnt it? The loss of your job / new job was no doubt a kick in the teeth but thankfully you've been given the insurance job opportunity to keep you on your feet in the mean time. Things sound like they're looking up indeed! Good for you mate Bout time you got on top of things. Glad to hear you're focussing on your life and living for you.
Pod81 Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 Congratulations! Looks like you've made a lot of progress in all sorts of areas in life - physically, emotionally, socially, spiritually, and career-wise. Keep at it and soon enough, you'll need to fend off women with a stick!! I wouldn't worry too much about the dreams, though. It'll come and go at times but the overall frequency will decrease over time.
AlexanderJames Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 Yeah sometimes I will have a dream about an ex from years ago and wake up thinking "riiiiiiiiiiight.... No more cheese and chocolate before bed" Never makes me feel sad tho*
Author DMS Posted July 20, 2012 Author Posted July 20, 2012 Yeah I managed to keep myself busy at work today because we were short handed.
AlexanderJames Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 Good work. My hours at work are getting cut. So that gives me time to start looking for a second job. Or a better full time one. Maybe interstate. It's thursday there huh?
